First, we know the fourth episode, “It Never Ends Well for the Chicken” will be a special black and white, noir episode set in a 1940’s alternate universe, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Tom Ellis told ET that the story of the episode “answers the question a lot of fans have been asking actually.” Now that’s a nice tease. Since it’s an alternate universe, how is it going to answer a question we’ve been asking? I’m excited to see our favorite characters decked out in their 1940’s costumes. From the photo of Lucifer and Maze that ET released, they look amazing!

Entertainment Weekly confirmed that episode 10 will be the musical episode – appropriately titled “Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam.” I think this has been a long time coming since music has always been a part of the show. I always enjoy being serenaded by the very talented Tom Ellis, but it will be fun to see which other actors get to sing too. (Maze will be singing alongside Lucifer in the 1940’s episode so we know we’ll get to hear Lesley-Ann Brandt’s voice!)

We’re also going to see Amenadiel paying Hell a visit, somewhere he does not want to be. I think that might be episode five, “Detective Amenadiel.” Though, I hope the title is referring to something else because I don’t want to believe that our favorite devil will be separated from everyone for five episodes! And with the premiere episode called “Really Sad Devil Guy,” it’s safe to guess we’re going to see that at least for one episode.

EW also reported that Inbar Lavi will be back to reprise her role as Eve. We don’t know when she’ll show up again and how long she’ll stay. Season 5 will pick up with Chloe and Maze leaning on each other during their heartbreak. Perhaps Eve will finally be ready to start things up with Maze. But we all know our feisty demon has a temper, will she easily accept Eve back into her life?

TVLine gave us some exciting news when they announced we’re getting another ladies’ night out at some point this season! We first saw the girls out together in season 2 and then again for Chloe’s bachelorette party in season 3. Those scenes are a favorite of mine and are hilarious! Maybe Linda and Ella will decide to take Chloe and Maze out to help them through their heartbreak.

Finally, season 5 will be split into two parts, so I’m guessing episode 8, “Spoiler Alert” will serve as the midseason finale. And as episode 9 is titled “A Family Dinner,” episode 8 is probably going to end with God arriving on Earth (finally!). EW reported that Dennis Haysbert has been cast to play God. This is one plotline of the season that I’m really looking forward to.

Of course, the last episode is called “A Chance at a Happy Ending.” But could it be the end for Lucifer?

There have been negotiations to bring the show back for at least one more season. Going off the season 5 finale title, it seems like they’re going to wrap most of the storylines up. If they did come back for one more season, it would be interesting to see what that will look like.

I just hope it’s not a spin-off or something of the like. No offense to other shows, but spin-offs usually aren’t that great and involve main cast members leaving, which is not something I want to see.

Lucifer season 5 filming has been delayed because of the novel coronavirus.

Stay tuned for more news about Lucifer season 5 (and maybe season 6!?).
