Netflix shared five new images for Stranger Things 3, including a look at Max and Eleven’s new friendship.

One week after sharing the trailer for Stranger Things 3 and the first new images from the season, Netflix is continuing the Stranger Things hype train this week by showing off a few new images that highlight our main cast in their new roles as teenagers in the summer of 1985.

There are five new images, and we have shared them below, via the Netflix Media Center.

The first image (above) shows new-found friends Max and Eleven taking a bus trip to somewhere (possibly the beach) while enjoying some ice cream and laughs. Their friendship looks to be an interesting addition to the new season as we have seen the two of them hanging out quite a bit already in the lead up to season three.

The next image shows Eleven leading the friends to somewhere we don’t know. Eleven seems determined and just a bit angry. The group may be somewhere involving Eleven’s origin or may be confronting an antagonist.

It’s interesting to note in this image that while Eleven seems ready for whatever is coming to the rest of the group doesn’t seem as sure, especially Max who is looking at Eleven with worry. Also, where’s Dustin?

The third image shows Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max looking at something out of frame. We can tell by the hilly backdrop and the antenna sticking out of Will’s backpack that this is coming out of the same scene shown in the trailer where the group is setting up the radio antenna for some unknown reason.

This suggests the scene and antenna may play an important role in the plot of the new season.

The last image shows Mike, Max, Will and Lucas sitting across from and looking at Eleven who is blindfolded. We have seen Eleven blindfolded already in the trailer for the new season, and she is clearly trying to channel her powers for some purpose.

Perhaps she is acting as a kind of antenna herself, just as she did in the first season when helping the government, to create a symbolic connection between this image and the previous one.

One final thing that all three of these images show off are the new, brightly colored 80s inspired costumes that will be part of the new season. This costuming choice was seen prominently in the trailer for season 3, and while the darkness and horror will still play an important role in the upcoming season, the vibrancy of the 80s is looking to be an important visual aspect of season three.

We also got to see an image from the Stranger Things 3 trailer of Erica, Lucas’s little sister going somewhere. It looks like she’s crawling through a vent, maybe?
