Right on the heels of the emotional Stranger Things sendoff that kicked off the year, Outer Banks season 5 now marks the official end of an iconic era on Netflix. The adventurous teen drama series that bloomed into a global phenomenon during the pandemic in 2020 remained an absolute sensation as the Pogues set off on even wilder globe-trotting treasure hunts.

For the last time, the Pogues are setting off on another adventure, this time with a revenge mission in mind. John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kie (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) are teaming up with Rafe (Drew Starkey) to track down Chandler Groff (J. Outer Banks season 5 premieres on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026 on Netflix worldwide. The 10-episode will be released all at once this time around, changing things up from the two-part release the streamer used for season 4. But depending on where you live in the world, the time at which the episodes become available on your watch differs based on your time zone.

Like most Netflix original series, Outer Banks season 5 drops at 3 a.m. ET, which is midnight PT, in the United States. Certain North American time zones can start watching a bit sooner than overnight, but for the most part, you will have to burn the midnight oil and stay up a bit later to catch up with the Pogues. In other areas, the episodes either drop first thing in the morning or in the afternoon.

Going into Outer Banks season 5, there are a number of things that fans are both hoping for and dreading. Obviously, there's a very real possibility for more deaths to occur in these episodes, but we're keeping our fingers crossed that we won't be mourning another character we love by the end of the final season. We're also hoping for a satisfying conclusion to each character's story.

Kie continues to mourn JJ's loss while remaining focused on finding Groff and the Crown, while John B and Sarah are expecting a baby and Pope and Cleo are balancing the complications their relationship brings amid the tense mission.
