Netflix is full of blockbuster hits and trending series, but if you’re only sticking to what everyone else is watching, you’re missing out. February 2026 is the perfect month to dig a little deeper and check out the shows and movies you wouldn't usually watch.
Don't you think it's time to broaden your viewing horizons for once? You don't even have to search endlessly or scroll for hours either. We've got a good list right here of three underrated movies and shows that are begging to be discovered this month. Who knows, you just might find your next obsession!

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast
How to Get to Heaven from Belfast isn’t your typical mystery. It’s a tangled, chaotic, hilarious, and deeply human story about friendship, secrets, and the strange ways life drags us into trouble we never signed up for.
The series centers around three old friends who are now in their late 30s but have remained tight since their school days. Their names are Saoirse, Robyn, and Dara. The story begins when the trio receives shocking news: their estranged fourth friend, Greta, has died. The three women then reunite for what should be a somber wake, only to find that things are far from ordinary.
Strange inconsistencies emerge almost immediately, and cryptic interactions with locals hint that Greta’s death may not have been as straightforward as it seemed. This then leads the trio to embark on a tense investigation that pulls them deeper into both Greta’s mysterious life and the secrets of their shared past.

Joe's College Road Trip
Tyler Perry is back with another movie on Netflix! This is all made possible through his ongoing creative partnership with the streaming giant, a collaboration that’s brought audiences an impressive slate of films and series over the years. The last film by Perry that was released on Netflix was Madea’s Destination Wedding, and now he brings us something even more wild and hilarious with Joe's College Road Trip.
The film follows Joe, the brash, foul-mouthed uncle from the Madea universe, as he takes his grandson, B.J., on a cross-country college tour. B.J isn't exactly prepared for life outside his bubble. Not only is he sheltered, but he's a little clueless about how the world works. That's when Joe comes in, ready to shake things up in his true no-filter fashion. What should have been a calm, educational trip quickly becomes a series of misadventures and comedic mishaps.

Unfamiliar
Let's switch genres again. After laughing until you can’t laugh anymore with How to Get to Heaven from Belfast and Joe’s College Road Trip, it’s time to turn the tension way up. Netflix’s Unfamiliar takes you from chaotic comedy straight into a world of secrets, betrayal, and high-stakes espionage.
We follow Simon and Meret Schäfer, a married couple living a seemingly quiet life in Berlin after leaving Germany’s elite foreign intelligence agency (BND). Their peaceful domestic life, however, is anything but safe. Everything changes when they receive a call from a wounded stranger during their daughter Nina’s 16th birthday party.
What seems like a random plea for help quickly unravels into a dangerous web connecting to Simon and Meret’s past missions. We're talking missions they thought were long behind them.
You can stream each one of these shows and movies on Netflix right now!
