When The Night Agent comes to an end next year, we won't have to wait long to see one of its stars back on our screens in an upcoming new thriller series.

We're currently counting down the days, if not minutes, until Peter Sutherland returns for one last mission. The Night Agent season 4 is on the way, having already wrapped filming, and while there's tons of excitement for this upcoming new season, there's also a major downside. It's the final season of the hit Netflix action thriller series. Thankfully, its star has quickly landed a new TV show.

The Night Agent star Gabriel Basso joined the main cast of the forthcoming Apple TV thriller series Guilty Creatures, which stars three-time Emmy Award winner Julia Garner. The specifics surrounding Basso's role haven't been revealed, but he will appear in the cast as a series regular, meaning his character will be prominently featured throughout the season.

Garner also executive produces Guilty Creatures for Apple TV, and Basso boards a main cast that also includes Lewis Pullman and Maddie Hasson. Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker will recur in the drama series. While Apple is keeping additional details close to the vest, it's exciting to know that after The Night Agent ends, we won't have long to wait to see Basso back on our screens.

Based on the true crime book Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida by Mikita Brottman, the series was adapted by Sarah DeLappe and will be directed by Craig Gillespie. In the series, a pair of religious and adulterous romantic partners in the Florida panhandle grapple with the chaos of their love affair while also engaging in murder for almost two decades.

Garner and Pullman are rumored to be playing the two leading roles, which calls into question how Basso will factor into the series. Perhaps he will be sticking closely to his time on The Night Agent as Peter Sutherland and once again play some kind of government agent. But it would also be incredibly fun to watch him disappear into a character that's completely different from Peter.

Guilty Creatures allegedly began filming in Atlanta, Georgia in late September 2026 and will wrap in early 2027, likely in February. Being so, we can expect to see Basso back on our watch lists, this time over on Apple TV, in either late 2027 or early 2028. But he will return as Peter Sutherland one last time much sooner than that, as the Netflix thriller's final season is expected to drop in early 2027.

Production on the fourth and final season wrapped in late September 2026. Basso finished working on his breakout role before jumping right into would could be his next biggest television role. There aren't too many details swirling around about the final season, though we know it's going to be set in Los Angeles, Peter will have a new partner, and Luciane Buchanan will be back as Rose.

The Night Agent season 4 brings an era to a close and will hopefully see Peter off with a happy ending. Well, as happy as someone like Peter can muster. We'll find out what the future holds for him when Netflix spills more details ahead of the final season's release next year. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
