The Night Agent season 4 wraps filming as Gabriel Basso promises ‘explosive’ series finale

And just like that, production on The Night Agent season 4 has officially come to an end! After months in production in Los Angeles, filming on the final season has wrapped, and Netflix gifted fans with a fun treat to mark the occasion! 

To help announce the show’s wrap, Netflix debuted a fun behind-the-scenes video, which not only offered up our first look at the final season but also gave fans a little tease of what’s in store from The Night Agent himself. 

“This is the fourth and final season of The Night Agent. Peter has some new friends. Peter has some new foes. To everyone who has watched the show, thank you. We’ve worked really hard to make this an explosive series finale,” series lead Gabriel Basso promised fans from set commemorating the end of production. 

As the wrap video reveals, Basso’s promise of an explosive series finale is metaphorical and literal. While we don’t have much context as to what’s going down in the footage in the wrap video, the footage features several shots of an airfield, including an explosive moment in which Basso’s character Peter Sutherland races away from a passenger plane as it goes up in flames. Clearly, Netflix is cranking the dial up to 11 as Peter faces what might very well be his biggest mission yet. 

This seems to be a glimpse into the actual series finale, which makes us wonder what could be going down that leads Peter to that point. He's yet again going to be pushed to his limit, as evidenced by the shots of a scrapped and bloodied Peter following the explosion—though he's definitely in better shape than the mystery man Peter is fighting off in one shot, whose body is covered in flames following the plane explosion.

It's evident that the creative team is looking to go out with a literal bang and will be serving up an intense final season that fans will not want to miss!

Netflix doubles down on promise of a 2027 release for The Night Agent season 4

If there was any doubt that The Night Agent season 4 is still on track for a 2027 release, Netflix has once again made it clear that the plan remains to release the final season in 2027. 

While we don’t know when the final season will release, Netflix made it clear once again that The Night Agent will return in 2027 with the announcement that production on the final season has concluded. Netflix is still keeping us in the dark on the release window, but it seems safe to assume that the final season will come in the first quarter of the year. 

Netflix has shaken up the release month for each season of The Night Agent, but the one thing every season’s release date shares is that it came in the first quarter of the year. The first season arrived in March, season 2 was then released in January, and season 3 dropped in February. Unless Netflix decides to shake things up with the final season, it seems incredibly likely that The Night Agent season 4 will release sometime between January and March 2027.
