Don't get too comfortable on that break of yours, Peter Sutherland! Netflix has already booked our favorite Night Agent's next mission, and the clock is ticking until he's back with his latest high-stakes adventure. The Night Agent season 4 has officially been renewed by Netflix!

The renewal arrives two weeks after the release of The Night Agent season 3 on Feb. 19, though chatter had been swirling for months about a fourth season already being in the works. Netflix's hit political action thriller continued to prove that it packs a punch, both in its storytelling and its commercial appeal, as the series hasn't left the top 10 since season 3 dropped.

While the third season did open to smaller numbers than most would have usually expected from a high-profile show like The Night Agent, continuing to bet big on the fan-favorite series from a branding standpoint. And it's not as if the series won't be able to bounce back from a season that might have been a little less regarded as those in the past.

As of the season 4 renewal on March 6, there aren't many advanced details known about the plot or cast of the upcoming season, but there will definitely be at least one major change in store. Whereas the past three seasons have predominantly filmed in New York City as well as various countries around the world, including Canada, Thailand, Türkiye, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, the fourth season will be filmed, and likely set, in Los Angeles, California.

In a statement about the season 4 renewal, creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan didn't mention the move to Los Angeles, but he did tease more "twists" to come: "It's been a wild ride filming The Night Agent in five countries across three continents to this point and we're so thrilled that the adventures of Peter Sutherland will continue into season 4. Our writers, our cast, and our crew stand ready to answer the call to bring our incredible fans even more twists, turns, and thrills."

Unlike previous seasons, the season 3 ending didn't leave an obvious cliffhanger behind to set up season 4, but we know at least two things going into the next mission: Peter opted to take a break after a long sting of missions, and he will be getting a new partner. We don't even know what his next mission will entail after wrapping up season 3's that took down both Hagan and Monroe.

Most fans are likely hoping that Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose in season 4, though her new role in Netflix's fellow hit drama Untamed season 2 could throw a wrench in that possibility. Deadline notes that filming on The Night Agent season 4 should commence in Los Angeles in late May 2026, which would allow for the series to return to our watch lists by early 2027.
