Peter and Chelsea fight back against Adam

The Night Agent season 3 episode 10 couldn't have been more of a breathless episode, with Peter and Chelsea working together against their former ally Adam. On orders from President Hagan, Adam's instructed to "take care" of Chelsea, which means that he's ordered her to be killed for knowing too many of their secrets. Adam drives away with her, but Chelsea sends Peter a pin.

When Adam realizes that Chelsea's onto him, the tone gets serious in the car. Guns are involved, but Chelsea's able to unbuckle Adam's seatbelt and cause the car to crash, hopefully solving her problem. Unfortunately, he's not unconscious and she's not able to reach his gun (or her gun, since he confiscated it). Chelsea hides away in a barn, but Adam pursues her.

Peter quickly arrives on the scene and helps Chelsea safely escape and they drive away. However, Adam stays on Peter and tracks him at the train station with Freya. Although Adam shoots Peter in the leg, severely injuring him, Peter stands to face Adam and his threat of killing him. Peter's defiance in combination with speaking the truth convinces Adam to do the right thing and let them live.

Do President Hagan and the First Lady get away with it?

The Night Agent season 3 reveals the extent of President Hagan and First Lady Jenny Hagan's crimes, which includes Jenny laundering money through her nonprofit to help her husband get elected to the presidency. But the President also had his hands in all kinds of problematic jars that abused his power, like hiring Adam to basically be a hitman on the inside of Night Action.

But no, President Hagan and the First Lady ultimately don't get away it, though you could argue that they do. Before being ousted from the White House and facing a Senate hearing after the truth is broadcast to the world, Hagan pardons himself and his wife. A television news report shows the Hagan family having a "sweet" moment before boarding a helicopter on the White House lawn.

The assassin kills Freya

As it turns out, there were still some loose ends to be taken care of before The Night Agent season 3 came to an end. One of the final scenes shows Freya, seemingly on vacation, sitting at a bar and having a drink. The assassin sidles up to her at the bar, and when he begins speaking with her, this time using an English accent, she gives him a fake name.

For a moment, you might think that the assassin has revealed his true identity and these two unlikely characters will find unexpected love, without ever knowing their connection to the season's mission. But alas, the assassin pulls a vile from his pocket, set to pour it in Freya's drink. It's not confirmed onscreen, but he for sure killed her. The assassin returns to his son and lives happily ever after.

Who could be Peter's new partner in The Night Agent season 4?

In the closing scene of The Night Agent season 3, Peter walks and talks with Mosley, reflecting on the mission and admitting that he needs a break. Before this conversation, Peter and Isabel are revealed to still be close and in contact, though she's planning to travel to Barcelona soon. Both seem to be taking some much-needed time off after a very personal and life-or-death case.

But the most interesting aspect of the season 3 ending was how it lightly sets up Peter's journey for season 4. Mosley mentions that he has a new partner lined up for Peter, and though he had already resigned himself to taking a break from Night Action, he's eager to learn who. Mosley doesn't reveal this new partner's identity, but there's a few theories as to who he could be teaming up with.

Naturally, we're inclined to wonder whether Chelsea has been recruited to Night Action after helping Peter once again close a case. She and Theo are happily planning their wedding at the end of the season, but it's possible she could be on board to team with Peter. Meanwhile, Rose was mentioned quite a bit this season but didn't appear. Could she have been training? There's also the chance that the new partner could be someone totally new that we haven't met yet. We're excited to find out!
