When The Hunting Wives made its debut on Netflix back in July 2025, the drama series became the surprise sensation that no one was expecting. Originally slated to air on Starz, the series was ultimately dropped from the cable network and acquired by Netflix. Upon the show's blockbuster premiere, the streamer inevitably crowned the series an original and renewed season 2.

Since The Hunting Wives season 2 began filming in November 2025 and wrapped in March 2026, fans have been hungry for updates on when Margo and Sophie will be back on our watch lists with more drama. Thankfully, Netflix has finally revealed the release date, starting the official countdown to the show's highly anticipated return this holiday season.

The Hunting Wives season 2 release date set for November 2026

After over one year of waiting, the drought for new episodes ends on Thanksgiving. Netflix revealed The Hunting Wives season 2 release date for Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, which is Thanksgiving Day in the United States. It's a major move for the series to release not only during the holiday rush, like Stranger Things last year, but on the actual holiday.

Netflix seems to be changing up a holiday release strategy by dropping The Hunting Wives season 2 on Thanksgiving Day. Oftentimes, the streamer would shift a show's release date to the Wednesday before the holiday to avoid conflict with Thanksgiving and give viewers more time to watch new content during their time off. But the wives of Maple Brook are back on Turkey Day.

There's no doubt that a lot of fans will be tuning into The Hunting Wives season 2 bright and early on Nov. 26 while continuing to prepare Thanksgiving dinner and escaping away after the meal to sneak in more episodes before dessert. Even though Netflix releases the season at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on Thanksgiving Day, the episodes will be available bright and early when you wake up.

What to expect from The Hunting Wives season 2

The Hunting Wives season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the season 1 finale and that ending that fans haven't been able to stop thinking about. Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman are back in their leading roles of Sophie O'Neil and Margo Banks, leading the cast that also includes returnees Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez, and Hunter Emery.

Netflix teased the plot of The Hunting Wives season 2 and where things stand between Sophie and Margo in the streamer's official press release: "At the start of season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?"

Beyond the returning main cast, The Hunting Wives season 2 also features recurring roles from familiar face Branton Box and series newcomers Dale Dickey, Kim Matula, Cam Gigandet, Alex FitzAlan, John Stamos, and Angel Reese, who are arriving to further stir the pot. Once again, the new season contains eight episodes, which will be released all at once on Thanksgiving Day.

Ahead of the new season's release in November 2026, Netflix hasn't shared a teaser or trailer, meaning there's no footage from season 2 to share as of the release date announcement. However, Netflix offered fans a number of first-look images from the episodes, giving a bit of a hint as to what we can expect. See The Hunting Wives cast in action in the photos below!
