What shows and documentaries were the best on Netflix? The streaming giant remains one of the top platforms for go-to shows and documentaries. Shows that have enticed the audience over the years have brought excitement and interest for everyone to watch.

During the holidays, this is the best opportunity to watch these Netflix shows and documentaries over again.

These are following shows that can have everyone’s interest over again and reminiscing the audience caught and some who missed out:

Narcos

Narcos goes back to the days of the notorious drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar. It follows the DEA agents Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal), who attempt to infiltrate and disrupt Escobar’s (Wagner Moura) drug empire in order to capture him.

The show is inspired by true events that took place in Colombia. Escobar’s storyline appears in the first two seasons as the last season followed the storyline of the Cali Cartel run by Helmer Herrera (Alberto Ammann), Gilberto Rodriguez (Damian Alcazar), and Miguel Rodriguez (Francisco Denis).

Narcos: Mexico

As the spin-off of the original Narcos, the Mexico version goes back to the days of the Guadalajara Cartel led by Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo (Diego Luna), Ernesto Fonseca (Joaquin Cosio), and Rafael Caro Quintero (Tenoch Huerta). When the hunter becomes the hunted, DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena (Michael Pena) is kidnapped by the cartel, causing the DEA task force to go after Felix Gallardo, led by Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy) in the first two seasons.

After the fall of the Guadalajara Cartel, the splinter gives rise to the Juarez Cartel led by Amado Carrillo Fuentes (Jose Maria Yazpik) aka El Senor De Los Cielos (Spanish for The Lord of the Skies).

Friends from College

For Friends fans who love the show, there’s room to give room to Friends from College look. The show follows Ethan (Keegan-Michael Key) and Lisa Turner (Cobie Smulders), who move to New York to meet with their friends from college who rekindle their friendships during their days at Harvard. Ethan is caught in an old relationship with Samantha “Sam” Delmonico (Annie Parisse) complicating his marriage with Lisa.

As a writer, he is represented by his old buddy Max Adler (Fred Savage) as his literary agent. The Turners find themselves back in the old college including Sam, Max, Nick (Nat Faxon), and Marianne (Jae Suh Park).

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story

Based on one of the most controversial crimes in recent history, Monsters follows the true story of Erik (Cooper Koch) and Lyle Menendez (Nicholas Alexander Chavez, responsible for the murder of their parents, Jose (Javier Bardem) and Kitty (Chloe Sevigny), in their Beverly Hills home.

The show is inspired by true events that led to their motives and the aftermath, the Erik and Lyle live life after their parents’ death while going on a spending spree. The truth later gets revealed as Erik confesses to the murder. The brothers are captured and end up facing trial that would send them to prison.

House of Cards

In the age of politics, House of Cards follows the career and aftermath of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire (Robin Wright). Frank gets what he wants as he gets caught up in scandals involving him and has his Chief of Staff, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly), as his fixer. The show starts him off as a U.S. Congressman from South Carolina, where he makes his way to becoming President of the United States, taking out his competition one by one, ultimately leading to his downfall.

Orange is the New Black

Reminiscing on one of Netflix's most important showsOrange is the New Black was one of the most watched shows on Netflix. The story follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), who is found guilty of transporting drugs as a mule for her former flame Alex Vause (Laura Prepon). Piper was set to marry her fiancé, Larry Bloom, but she finds herself in the same prison as her ex-girlfriend. Through the ups and downs, Piper navigates through prison including meeting people from all walks of life.
