Leanne season 2 release time (by time zone), episode count, and what to expect

Netflix couldn't let summer come to an end without one of its funniest original comedy series coming back with a new season. After debuting last summer with a super-sized first season that won over fans of Leanne Morgan's stand-up, Leanne is back with season 2 and lots of laughs.

While the sitcom, which comes from The Big Bang Theory co-creator producer Chuck Lorre, returns with its second season, there's a big change in store that fans probably won't be excited about. No, there's no major casting shakeups or a significant retooling of the premise, but there are fewer episodes in Leanne season 2 than there were in the hit first season.

As mentioned above, Leanne arrived on Netflix with a super-sized first season that contained 16 episodes. That's unheard of for Netflix original comedy series, especially with the fact that they were released all at once rather than split into two parts. Unfortunately, season 2 won't have 16 episodes. There will only be 10 new episodes on our watch list when the season premieres.

When is Leanne season 2 released on Netflix?

Leanne season 2 comes out on Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026 with all 10 episodes released at once. There isn't another part of the second season left to be released, which will certainly be disappointing to fans who were expecting and hoping for as many episodes as the first season. But if you watch both seasons back-to-back, that's a 26-episode binge-watch.

The second season drops at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT in the United States, and based on your time zone, you could begin your watch at a much more reasonable time. Also, keep in mind the decreased episode count. With only 10 episodes, you could press play on the season, and after a little less than five hours later, you could have watched the full season in one sitting.

The sitcom's second season picks up in the aftermath of the first season, which found Morgan's titular character Leanne Murphy restarting her whole life when her husband of over 30 years leaves her for another woman. Suddenly turned upside down, Leanne explores a fresh start as divorce, menopause, and grandchildren all clash together in a perfect storm.

She's still learning how to start over as she navigates an odd crush on her ex and she and her sister take in their parents. Once again, these are uncharted waters that are full of laugh-out-loud moments. Leanne season 2 also welcomes fresh faces to the cast, including new guest stars Billy Gardell, Jaime Pressly, Tyne Daly, and country music superstar Lainey Wilson.
