As summer rages on and the temperatures outside show no signs of cooling down, we're all looking for an indoor escape. Naturally, that escape will inevitably be a fully stocked watch list, and Netflix continues to deliver the kind of content that's worth hiding out indoors for. Between binge-worthy new series, gripping documentaries, and hilarious movies, the streamer has it all this week.

While Wicked: For Good makings its Netflix debut will surely dominate the Top 10, the current lineup includes the streamy thriller Desire, Shipwrecked: Nightmare at Sea, and a few of The Hunger Games movies. As for the top series on Netflix right, Will Ferrell's new comedy series The Hawk is off to the races, while the Little House on the Prairie reboot continues to charm viewers.

After you have made your way through what's currently hot on Netflix, there are a trio of new release original movies and shows premiering this week that will be the talk of the internet. The second season of the hit romantic drama series Ransom Canyon is the marquee title, with a documentary and a comedy movie as bookends for a very entertaining week on Netflix!

A Toxic Love Story

Netflix has quickly become the ultimate destination for true crime documentaries and docuseries, especially with this summer's releases. The gripping, chilling run of can't-miss true stories continues on Wednesday, July 22 with the release of the new film A Toxic Love Story.

In the new documentary, a newlywed men living in a upper middle class California suburb finds emails from "Lilithistruth" in her inbox, leading to the arrest of her husband's ex-girlfriend. However, the case only continues to unravel with new, shocking, and scary revelations of a revenge plot.

If you are familiar with the case, but even if you're not, A Toxic Love Story will have you on the edge of your seat as the documentary lays out all the details of the case. True crime fans will be watching this one as soon as it's released, and its surefire popularity could even pull in curious viewers, too.

Ransom Canyon season 2

Are you ready to return to another one of Netflix's most dramatic fictional small towns? This might not be Virgin River or Serenity, but Ransom Canyon's just another one of the best places to escape into the unbelievably complicated personal lives of lovable characters.

Ransom Canyon season 2 picks up months after Quinn left for New York City in the first season finale. She returns home to inevitable change, but those changes remain to be revealed in season 2. Where does she stand with Staten, and what's next for his battle for his ranch?

Don't forget, Yancy was also unexpectedly reunited with his secret wife before getting married to Ellie... which didn't end up happening. When the eight-episode new season arrives on July 23, we will be positively enveloped in some of the best soapy drama Netflix has to offer!

72 Hours

It wouldn't be a new week on Netflix without a high-profile original movie release, and that's exactly what we're getting to close out the week of July 20. Rather than a huge action movie or a tear-jerking romantic drama, the streamer's serving up a brand-new comedy starring Kevin Hart.

The actor and comedian stars in 72 Hours as Joe, an executive who looks to get a boost in his career by tagging along on a weekend-long bachelor party with a group of 20-somethings. But at 40, Joe quickly learns that he's struggling to keep up in more ways than one.

Along with Hart, the cast of 72 Hours also includes Marcello Hernández, Mason Gooding, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson, Teyana Taylor, and more familiar faces. Join the party and see how Joe fares with his new younger friends when the movie drops on Netflix on July 24.
