Turns out Travis Kelce is in Receiver season 1 (and so is Taylor Swift!)

Football season might not be here just yet, but Netflix is already getting the excitement going with a look back at last season in the new documentary series Receiver. The eight-episode series follows a group of NFL receivers from various teams throughout 2023 season, but Kansas City Chiefs tight end and three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce isn't one of those receivers.

However, just because Kelce isn't one of the main subjects of Receiver doesn't mean the football superstar isn't seen at all in the series. For multiple reasons, including the fact that he helped lead the Chiefs to back-to-back Super Bowl wins, Kelce was perhaps the biggest name in the 2023 NFL season. He makes a couple of appearances in the series, and so does his iconic significant other.

For the Travis Kelce fans wondering when you can spot the Big Yeti in the Netflix series (guilty!), let's get into all of his cameos in Receiver. First up, a short clip of Kelce catching the ball then getting tackled during a game against the Miami Dolphins plays in a montage during the opening sequence of the docuseries about two minutes into the first episode. The first episode also covers the first game of the season between the Chiefs and the Lions at Arrowhead Stadium.

The second episode features a bit more of Kelce as it showcases the Week 5 game between the Chiefs and the Vikings. The Chiefs are shown walking through the stadium to the field and having a pre-game pep talk from Patrick Mahomes on the sidelines. The sequence ends with a prolonged shot of Kelce rocking his famous "El Travador" look.

Kelce makes his biggest appearance in Receiver in the eighth episode, the season finale, which takes place during the Super Bowl in February 2024. The cameras captured Kelce greeting and chatting with 49ers tight end George Kittle ahead of the big game at the Super Bowl media event at Allegiant Stadium. Kettle goes on to talk about Kelce in an interview, which leads into a clip of Kelce talking about and praising Kittle during a press conference.

Of course, there are clips from the Super Bowl game between the Chiefs and the 49ers in which Kelce appears, but the moment all Swifties are waiting for from Receiver comes in the episode with 10 minutes to spare. There's a brief glimpse of Swift watching the game in a suit with Kelce's mom Donna, Blake Lively, and Ice Spice. Unfortunately, there's no additional scenes featuring Kelce and Swift, including that on-field kiss seen round the world after the Chiefs won the game.

Obviously, if you're tuning into Receiver to see Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, you'll likely be a bit disappointed and should probably just check out the hundreds of photos and videos that have captured their relationship highlights during the 2023 football season. Still, it's a fun surprise to see slight references to one of the biggest storylines to come out of the NFL last year.
