What do Outlander, Pop-Tarts, and Shrek all have in common? They're coming to Netflix this week! For the week of April 29, 2024, the streaming service will be adding 52 new movies and shows, and there are so many must-watches among that number. Obviously, 52 is a large and overwhelming number, so where to you even begin with the week's new releases?
As previewed above, you can expect a new season of Outlander to drop into you watch list, as well as Jerry Seinfeld's directorial debut with the origin story of the leading breakfast pastry and everyone's favorite ogre making a return trip to Netflix. But beyond these three titles, what other Netflix shows should be on your radar this week before they inevitably hit the top 10?
Here are the five biggest highlights among Netflix's new releases this week. Let's get the list started with what's sure to be one of May's most addictive limited series, A Man in Full.
A Man in Full
Based on the novel of the same name by Tom Wolfe, A Man in Full stars Jeff Daniels in his latest must-watch television performance following critically acclaimed hits like The Newsroom, Netflix's Godless, and American Rust. The series centers on a businessman whose empire begins to show cracks thanks to bankruptcy, forcing him to defend his business from the swarming vultures attempting to take advantage of his struggles. A Man in Full kicks off the new month with a bang when all six episodes of the miniseries begin streaming on Thursday, May 2.

Unfrosted
You know Jerry Seinfeld for playing Jerry Seinfeld in nine seasons of his wildly popular eponymous sitcom Seinfeld, or maybe you even know him as the bee from Bee Movie. But on May 3, he's adding a new role to his résumé: Director! Seinfeld stars in, co-writes, and directs Unfrosted, his feature directorial debut that tells the hilarious quirky story of how the Pop-Tart came to be in 1963. The film features an exceptionally talented cast, including Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, and Hugh Grant. Start May off on a seriously unserious note with the satirical comedy film.

Outlander season 6
It's about time! Outlander fans have been waiting and waiting for season 6 to touch down on Netflix after ending all the way back in May 2022. It's no secret that the show's two-year release pattern on the streaming service leaves much to be desired, but the wait for season 6 is officially over as of May 1. You might want to pace yourself with season 6 though, as season 7 still has a second part to launch in November 2024 and there's the eighth and final season still to come. Maybe that just makes the cast for another rewatch before each Netflix drop!
