The Signal cast: Here's who stars in the German Netflix limited series

The Signal is one of the top shows on Netflix at the moment. But given its interesting premise, this doesn't come as a surprise. The Signal is a German-language Netflix original series helmed by Sebastian Hilger and Philipp Leinemann. Hilger and Nadine Gottmann came up with the original idea for the story, and then Gottmann, Florian David Fitz, and Kim Zimmermann wrote the scripts. In addition, Christian Springer, Amir Hamz, Fahri Yardim, and Johannes Jancke produced under the Bon Voyage Films GmbH banner.

When astronaut Paula goes missing and disappears without a trace, her husband and daughter go on a frantic search for the truth. But the more they uncover, the more their lives start to collapse, and they begin to face new threats.

Not only did Florian David Fitz write some of the scripts, he also stars in the leading role of Sven Groth. Sven is a desperate husband who begins investigating the mysterious disappearance of his astronaut wife. You might recognize Fitz from his previous roles in the movies Jesus Loves Me, The Most Beautiful Day, 100 Things and Oskars Kleid. We'll see him next in a comedy film called Der Vierer.

Yuna Bennett plays the role of Carlotta Groth, the young daughter of Sven and Paula. Sven tries his best to protect Carlotta as they deal with the fallout of Paula's accident. Bennett is fairly new to the acting world, so she doesn't have many acting credits to her name. However, some of her previous roles were in the romance film Die Tänzerin und der Gangster - Liebe auf Umwegen and in the comedy film Hard Feelings, which can be streamed on Netflix.

Well-known German actress Peri Baumeister stars as Paula Groth, the astronaut who mysteriously disappears while on her flight home to her family. Baumeister is best known for starring as Lady Gisela in the historical drama series The Last Kingdom. She also starred as Sara in the drama series Skylines and as Nadja in the vampire horror flick Blood Red Sky. Her most recent role, in addition to playing Paula in The Signal, was playing Ms Abbel in the family drama movie Winners.
