The Gentlemen and 3 good crime shows to watch on Netflix right now

Crime shows are all the rage right now on Netflix! Over the last few months, we've seen crime dramas like Fool Me Once, Berlin, and others take over the Netflix Top 10. While Netflix hasn't had an Ozark-esque new crime drama lately, there are still plenty of good Netflix original crime shows to watch on the streaming service.

Let's get the list started with the most popular show on Netflix in March 2024, The Gentlemen.

The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen premiered on Netflix on March 7, 2024, and it's easily one of the best Netflix shows of the year so far. It's also one of Netflix's best crime shows ever, in my opinion. It feels a little Peaky Blinders, a little Ozark, and a lot of Guy Ritchie, which has fans all over the world loving the new drama.

The film is based on the film of the same name from Guy Ritchie. The Gentlemen takes that story and expands it, and I think it works much better as a TV series than a film. It allows Ritchie to explore these characters and go a little bit deeper with the story.

The series, which has an incredible cast, follows Eddie Horniman (Theo James), who takes over as the new Duke of Halstead after the death of his father. Unbeknownst to Eddie, the family is very involved in the illegal sale and distribution of marijuana, which leads to a lot of spicy drama with other criminal organizations. Does Eddie have what it takes to make it in the family business and a new industry?

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders is the best crime show on Netflix not named Breaking Bad! And, there's no better time to watch the Netflix crime drama than right now. Cillian Murphy, who stars as the series lead, Tommy Shelby, in Peaky Blinders just won his first Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. Murphy is so incredible as the leader of the Peaky Blinders gang in this show. If you love Murphy and haven't seen Peaky Blinders, this is the show for you!

The series is set in the early 1900s and follows the members of a street gang in Birmingham, England, known as the Peaky Blinders. As the gang tries to carve out legitimate business and foothold in the area, Tommy and the gang step on a lot of toes and make a lot of enemies.

There are six seasons of Peaky Blinders available to stream on Netflix right now. The series came to an end in 2022.

Griselda

From the creators of Narcos, Griselda is your next crime show to watch on Netflix. The series premiered on the streaming service at the end of January 2024, and it's another one of the best Netflix shows of the year so far. I have a feeling we'll be talking about this series next award season!

Sofia Vergara is incredible in the series, which is based on the life and true story of Griselda Blanco who was one of the most prolifiic and infamous drug distributors in Florida during the 1980s. Vergara stars as Griselda.

The series follows Griselda's life after moving to America, struggling to make an honest living, and resorting to back to her roots in the drug trade in Miami. Her ruthless nature and business acumen sees her rise to power, but as we all know from watching other shows like this, the quick ascension draws a lot of unwanted attention and enemies.

Berlin

Berlin is the spinoff to Netflix's Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel. The Netflix series premiered at the end of December 2023, and it's easily one of the best shows of 2023. I'm a huge fan of Money Heist and heist shows in general. Overall, Berlin didn't get great reviews, but it's a terrific new series that works on a variety of levels and for a lot of viewers.

You don't have to watch Money Heist before watching Berlin, but it does help! There are references you might miss, but the story is easy enough to follow. The series follows Berlin (Pedro Alonso), who assembles a team of lovable criminals to pull off a massive jewelry heist from a Parisian auction house.

Berlin is already renewed for season 2 at Netflix, but it's going to be a while until the series premieres!
