Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

The newest Ghostbusters movie made its Netflix premiere on July 22 and quickly raced to the peak of the top 10 movies ranking. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire reunites the new generation of Ghostbusters with the cast of the original movies. Frozen Empire takes the franchise to new heights with an intriguing story about an evil force threatening New York City with an Ice Age. The movie is dedicated to the memory of Ivan Reitman, the director of the first two Ghostbusters movies, who passed away in 2022. Check out the nostalgic sci-fi blockbuster this weekend!

MINIONS
DESPICABLE ME - Villainous Gru lives up to his reputation as a despicable, deplorable and downright unlikable guy when he hatches a plan to steal the moon from the sky. But he has a tough time staying on task after three orphan girls land in his care. (UNIVERSAL) MINIONS /

Minions

With Despicable Me 4 now in theaters (and likely headed to Netflix later this year), the standalone Minions movie has been firmly planted in the top 10 most popular movies ranking for most of July. The film, which was released in theaters in 2015 and made over $1 billion, is a prequel story about the hilarious little yellow creatures. Minions spawned the 2022 sequel Minions: The Rise of Gru and third movie already has a release date set for 2027. That's a long wait, so watch the first Minions now on Netflix! (You could also watch Trolls Band Together, which is still popular this week.)

The Decameron

Looking for laughs, drama, and high medieval camp? Well, you will find what you're looking for with Netflix's new original limited series The Decameron. Based on the 14th century short story collection of the same name, Tony Hale and Zosia Mamet lead the ensemble cast of the dark comedy about a group of nobles and servants trying to live harmoniously in an Italian villa as the Black Plague threatens their lives. The result is eight episodes of a wild, crass, and deadly experience that's unlike anything else on TV right now. Give it a binge if it sounds like it's up your alley!
