Netflix Avatar: The Last Airbender cast ages: How old are the actors in real life?

I don't know if you know, but Avatar: The Last Airbender is finally available to stream on Netflix. It's a live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon's hit animated series of the same name, so everyone's wondering if it's any good. Well, we've already watched the eight-episode first season in its entirety, and we'd say it's a pretty entertaining show to watch. Many critics would even agree with us.

The first season of the live-action series covers the entire first season of the animated series. We're introduced to a 12-year-old boy named Aang, the current Avatar and the sole survivor of his kind. After being frozen in an iceberg for 100 years, Aang finally awakens to discover that the Fire Nation has wiped out his entire race (Air Nomads) and has forced the other nations into fear and isolation.

So, to restore peace and bring down the militaristic Fire Nation, which is hell-bent on conquering the world, Aang must learn to master all four classical elements (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air). This leads him on a wild journey, but he has help from new friends like young waterbender Katara and her older brother Sokka. Aang just needs to make sure he stays clear of the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, who is determined to regain his honor by capturing him.

Young actor Gordon Cormier stars in the leading role of Aang, while Kiawentiio and Ian Ousley play the roles of Katara and Sokka, respectively. How old is Gordon Cormier?

Gordon Kyle Diez Cormier, or just Gordon Cormier, might be playing a 12-year-old boy (biologically 112 years old) in Avatar: The Last Airbender, but he's actually 14 years old in real life. He was reportedly born on Oct. 9, 2009, in Canada, making his zodiac sign Libra. More specifically, he was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia to a Filipino mother and a Caucasian Canadian father. A fun fact about Gordon is that he practiced taekwondo from the age of 4 until he was 7 years old.

Although he's fairly new to the entertainment industry, having only 10 acting credits to his name, we're positive that we'll see him take on many more roles in the near future. Kiawentiio is also older than her Katara character in the live-action series. Young Waterbender Katara is 14 years old while Kiawentiio is actually 17 years old in real life. Kiawentiio was born on April 28, 2006, in Akwesasne, Ontario, Canada to a Mohawk family. Additionally, her zodiac sign is Taurus.

You might recognize her from her previous role as Ka'kwet in the Netflix series Anne with an E. For this role, she had to learn to speak Miꞌkmaq and learn their history and culture. His age was changed as well. He's 16 years old in the live-action series, but was 15 years old in the animated series. In real life, the actor behind the live-action Sokka character is 21 years old. Ian was reportedly born on March 28, 2002, in College Station, Texas. In addition, his zodiac sign is Aries.
