Where are all the Blood of Zeus fans? After a painfully long wait, the adult animated fantasy series will be finally making its return with its second season. It's been a long time coming, and many of you probably thought a new season would never come out. I mean, it's been over three years since the first season dropped. It doesn't help that we've recently seen Netflix cancel several of its animated series. But it looks like we don't have to worry about that with Blood of Zeus because the highly anticipated second season is confirmed to be dropping in May 2024.

Created, written, and executive produced by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides with Powerhouse Animation Studio behind the animation, Blood of Zeus takes place in mythical ancient Greece and centers around the demigod son of Zeus, Heron, who is tasked with saving the world from a vengeful goddess and her demonic army.

After an amazing first season, Netflix decided to give the go-ahead for a second season only two months after the first season's release. But unfortunately, we didn't get to see the upcoming Blood of Zeus season 2 as soon as we would've liked. While animated series do take a longer time to make, it shouldn't have taken this long. It's believed that the long wait stemmed from the animation studio behind the show working on another Netflix animated series.

But whatever the reason was for the delay, we're just happy we now have an official release date for the second season. What's even better is that we also have the trailer! Below, we shared everything you need to know about Blood of Zeus season 2 before its May release.

When is Blood of Zeus season 2 coming to Netflix?

Get ready because the second season of one of the best adult animated series on Netflix premieres on the streaming platform on Friday, May 10, 2024! You can expect the new season to drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date. This is when Netflix usually releases new content on its platform.

Unfortunately, it's unknown how many episodes the second season will consist of and if they all will be released at once. However, our guess is that we're looking at another eight-episode season like the first season. Once we learn more information about the total episode count, we'll let you know right away.

What is the second season about?

Blood of Zeus season 2 takes place after the demise of Zeus, Heron's father. With the death of Zeus, there's now a power struggle amongst the gods on who will be the next ruler of the heavens. This leaves Heron struggling to find his place. While still distraught over his father's loss, Heron hears a mysterious voice in his dreams telling him to save his brother, Seraphim, who is trapped in the Underworld. Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Hades tries to convince Seraphim to join him in taking down those who have wronged them and securing Zeus' vacant throne.

Derek Phillips comes back to voice Heron in the second season. Joining him in the voice cast are Jessica Henwick (Alexia), Jason O'Mara (Zeus), Elias Toufexis (Seraphim), Lara Pulver (Persephone), and Fred Tatasciore (Hades).
