Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once is the most popular Netflix show of 2024 (but not for long)

Bridgerton season 3 is set to pass Fool Me Once on the Netflix Top 10 any day now

Halfway through 2024, a surprising show from Harlan Coben is officially the most popular Netflix show of the year so far. Of course, I'm referring to Fool Me Once.

The series based on Coben's novel of the same name premiered on Jan. 1, 2024. Fool Me Once officially ranks tied for sixth on the all-time Netflix Top 10 for English-language shows with The Night Agent season 1. Fans tuned in and watched nearly 630 million hours of the series starring Michelle Keegan and Richard Armitage, which computes to 98.2 million views in the show's first 90 days on Netflix.

That's an incredibly successful series for Netflix! Everyone praised The Night Agent when it premiered on Netflix in 2023, but did they have the same praise for Fool Me Once? Some did, for sure, but this is still rather underrated in comparison to the other Netflix shows on the list. Fool Me Once isn't often mentioned in the same stratosphere as Wednesday, Stranger Things, Bridgerton, or The Queen's Gambit.

Officially, the series is tied for the 10th-biggest opening for Netflix when you combine the English-language Netflix Top 10 with the non-English-language list, which includes Squid Game, Lupin, Money Heist, and more.

Bridgerton season 3 will soon be the most popular Netflix show of 2024

Fool Me Once has a pretty good buffer to remain on the all-time Netflix Top 10 for a while, but it won't be the most popular Netflix show of 2024 for much longer.

Bridgerton season 3 just cracked to the Netflix Top 10. The season, which premiered on May 16, has racked up 91.9 million views in its first 45 days on Netflix. And, the full season hasn't even been out for a full month. Netflix split the season into two parts with the second batch of episodes dropping on June 13.

Fool Me Once is only three spots ahead of Bridgerton season 3 on the Top 10. More importantly, there are only about seven million views separating Fool Me Once and Bridgerton season 3. It's really just a matter of time before Bridgerton season 3 passes Fool Me Once and the other five or six shows ahead of it and slots in around Stranger Things season 4 and Wednesday on the all-time list.

There's no doubt that Fool Me Once is one of the best Harlan Coben Netflix shows so far. The fact that this show is so popular is a great sign for the other Coben shows in the works at Netflix, including Missing You and Run Away.

Stay tuned for more Coben Netflix shows coming soon! And, don't forget to check out the other shows based on his books if you like Fool Me Once!
