Fool Me Once filming locations: Here's where the limited series was filmed

Fool Me Once is the latest of many Harlan Coben adaptations at Netflix, this one adapted from his 2016 novel of the same name. Like the previous series released on Netflix, Fool Me Once is a British miniseries that follows a tense mystery across multiple episodes, in this case, eight.

The story centers on an army veteran named Maya Stern (Michelle Keegan) who was called home after her sister, Claire, was murdered during a supposed robbery. Now Maya faces yet another tragedy after her husband, Joe Burkett (Richard Armitage) is also murdered. In both cases, the murderer was never caught and Maya is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery regarding her husband.

Interestingly, the novel the series is adapted from actually took place in the United States, specifically in New York, but was moved to the United Kingdom for the show. According to Digital Spy, filming started in Manchester and some filming also took place in the northwestern region of England, per Variety.

The Quay Side Productions project reportedly filmed in Spain, too, specifically Almeria, for the army flashback scenes, per Radio Times.

Star Michelle Keegan spoke with the outlet, revealing that the change from New York to Manchester helped her feel more "grounded" in the story since Keegan is also from the UK.

• A pub scene was filmed at the popular Peveril of the Peak
