Nine-Nine! Who's ready for the absolutely fabulous and hilarious sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine to be added to Netflix? I certainly am! The series has a total of eight seasons, but unfortunately only the first four will be added to the streamer starting Monday, Feb. 26, 2024. That's ok! You can head to Peacock to watch the rest if you like it. Or perhaps Netflix will hopefully add more seasons soon.

The show started out the first five seasons on Fox, but then the network cancelled it. That's when NBC stepped in, and it went on for another three installments. And we're so happy it did! Brooklyn Nine-Nine has an ensemble cast of nine main actors you're going to see throughout the series. We shared them below:

  • Andre Braugher as Captain Raymond Holt
  • Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta
  • Melissa Fumero as Amy Santiago
  • Terry Crews as Terry Jeffords
  • Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz
  • Joe Lo Truglio as Charles Boyle
  • Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti
  • Dirk Blocker as Michael Hitchcock
  • Joel McKinnon Miller as Norm Scully

Ready to learn more about the B99 characters? Curious who the actors are? We've got the details for you below!

Andre Braugher as Captain Raymond Holt

Of course we need to start off the list with our captain of the Nine-Nine, and that's Andre Braugher who played Raymond Holt. Unfortunately the actor passed away in December 2023 due to lung cancer at the age of 61. It really is still hard to believe. Braugher is also known for his roles in Gideon's Crossing, Hack, City of Angels, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Salt. He was married to Ami Brabson, who starred on Homicide: Life on the Street with him. The two have three sons.

His character is the NYPD's first black gay police captain, and he holds that in pride and knows the responsibility that comes with it. His stoic-ness and deadpan faces are just so hilarious at times. Though Holt and Jake don't get along at first due to the detective's immature behavior, their relationship definitely grows. And that's all I'll say because I don't want to spoil anything for you all!

Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta

Jake Peralta, played by Andy Samberg, is a very smart detective who knows what he's doing, but gets up to some very immature antics. He'd been able to get away with his behavior with the previous captains. But when Captain Raymond Holt walks in, he'll have none of it. Jake needs to learn to grow up with Captain Holt around. Plus, his favorite movie ever is Die Hard.

Samberg is known in the world of comedy, having been part of the cast and a writer on Saturday Night Live. His acting credits include I Love You, Man, the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs movies, and the Hotel Transylvania films. Most recently, the actor voiced Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is streaming on Netflix, and appears in Jake Johnson's Self Reliance on Hulu. He is married to Joanna Newsom and the couple has two daughters.

Melissa Fumero as Amy Santiago

Melissa Fumero is the perfect actress to play Amy Santiago. The detective is the most Type A person you'll meet and is competitive. Her and Jake are often times found in a friendly bet or competition, which just makes those sparks between them fly higher. Amy also really looks up to Captain Holt and sees him as a role model and mentor.

The actress' first main role was B99, but she's also known for playing Adriana Cramer in the soap opera One Life to Live. On the show, she met her husband David Fumero who was her co-star and the couple has two sons. Fumero also appeared as Zoe on Gossip Girl and voiced Melissa Tarleton on M.O.D.O.K. In 2022, she was one of the leads on Netflix's Blockbuster, but the series was canceled after one season.

What's fun is that she currently voices Bella on the animated sitcom Digman! on Comedy Central. The series is co-created by Samberg and he also stars in it. The show has been renewed for a second season. A B99 reunion already!

Terry Crews as Terry Jeffords

Terry Jeffords is one of my favorite characters personally! He's very strong and works out a lot, staying in shape being a priority for him. He can easily pick someone up, but he's really a softy. The sergeant, or Sarge as the team affectionately calls him, is also a family man. He is married to Sharon and they have two daughters.

In real life, Terry Crews is married to Rebecca King who he met when he was in his second year of college. The couple have four daughters, one son, and a grandchild. Crews is an icon! He's an actor, television host, and former NFL player for multiple teams including the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers, and Washington Redskins. He retired in 1997 and that's when he ventured into acting. Other than Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the actor is best known for playing Julius Rock in Everybody Hates Chris. Currently, he's the host of American's Got Talent.

Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa Diaz

One actress who is popping up a lot after her time on Brooklyn Nine-Nine is Stephanie Beatriz. And we love to see it! She played Carla in the In the Heights movie and is the voice of the main character in Disney movie Encanto, Maribel Madrigal. Her work also includes voicing Gertie in Ice Age: Collision Course, appearing as Gloria's (Sofia Vergara) sister Sonia in Modern Family, and Callista in Wizards: Tales of Arcadia.

Currently, she stars as Quiet in the Peacock series Twisted Metal. The show has been renewed for a second season. She's also the voice of Vaggie in Hazbin Hotel, which also got a second season renewal on Hulu. Beatriz is married to Brad Hoss and the two welcomed a daughter in June 2021.

Rosa Diaz is a strong, tough, and intimidating detective no one dares mess with. She's super private and knows how to use multiple weapons. She and Jake were classmates in the police academy, and so they're close friends. And though she's tough as nails, Rosa also has a soft side and is always there for her team.

Joe Lo Truglio as Charles Boyle

Joe Lo Truglio takes on the role of Charles Boyle. This detective is smart and good at his job. But, he's a big sharer. Like to an uncomfortable level sometimes. He's also into some unusual food. Though I think the character provides great comedy. Charles and Jake are besties, and he won't let anyone forget it. Or take his place.

Truglio has appeared in Beer League, The Ten, I Love You, Man (yes, he does have some scenes with Samberg!), Wreck-It Ralph, Pitch Perfect 2, The State, and Reno 911!. He also reprised his role on the Netflix series We Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp which is a prequel to the 2001 movie. He is married to Beth Dover and the two have one son together.

Chelsea Peretti as Gina Linetti

Gina Linetti is Captain Holt's assistant, and is usually pretty bored with her job. She's very arrogant and spends all her time on her phone and social media. And though she can be self-centered, she does care about her co-workers even she doesn't necessarily want to admit that. Gina is also Jake's childhood friend.

And that onscreen friendship was actually based on real life! Peretti and Samberg went to elementary school together and have also been friends since they were kids. Peretti is not just an actress, but a comedian and writer as well. She's written for shows like Parks and Recreation and Saturday Night Live. Her acting credits also include China, IL, Big Mouth, and the voice of Pam on My Dad the Bounty Hunter on Netflix. Peretti is married to Jordan Peele and the two have a son together.

Dirk Blocker as Michael Hitchcock

One of the two laziest detectives at the precinct are Hitchcock and Scully. Dirk Blocker takes on the role of Michael Hitchcock, who is more vulgar. The two are older, don't like to do physical work, and focus on the paperwork part of their jobs. The group usually doesn't take their input seriously, but sometimes they actually know what they're talking about.

Blocker's first major role was playing Lt. Jerry Bragg in the '70s series Baa Baa Black Sheep. His credits also include M*A*S*H, Made in Heaven, and appearing on Criminal Minds in 2009. He's married to Danielle Aubuchon and they have two kids.

Joel McKinnon Miller as Detective Norm Scully

The second pea in the Hitchock and Scull pod is Joel McKinnon Miller who plays Norm Scully. This detecitve is tamer, sings opera, and has lots of medical issues. He's best buds with Hitchcock and they're always together. The actor is known for playing Don Embry on Big Love.

He's also the voice of Bromley in the first The Swan Princess movie and has guest starred on shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Malcolm in the Middle, Six Feet Under, Nip/Tuck, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Most recently, Miller appeared in two episodes of Station 19 as Reggie in season 6 episode 12 and season 6 episode 17. He's married to Tammy McKinnon and the two have a son and a daughter.

The first four seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine begin streaming Monday, Feb. 26, 2024 on Netflix.
