Blood of Zeus season 2 and the 3 best Netflix anime to watch in May 2024

It's officially May 2024, and we're in disbelief at how fast time is flying by. This month, Netflix will be releasing a bunch of new content that's worth checking out, such as shows like A Man in Full, Bodkin, Selling the OC season 3, Bridgerton season 3 part 1, The 8 Show, Eric, Geek Girl and so much more. There are many interesting titles on the movie front as well, like Unfrosted, Mother of The Bride and Atlas.

However, what we're most looking forward to are the new anime titles. Unfortunately, Netflix won't be releasing that many anime shows and movies this month, but the ones that will be coming out are definitely worth adding to your watchlist.

Below, we shared four Netflix anime we strongly recommend you check out this May!

Blood of Zeus season 2

After a painfully long wait, Blood of Zeus is finally set to return with its second season on Friday, May 10, 2024. You can expect the complete season to drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date. This is the usual time that Netflix releases new content on its platform. While it's unknown how many episodes will be in the second season, our guess is that we're looking at another eight episodes like the first season.

Blood of Zeus season 2 will see Heron struggling to find his place after the death of his father Zeus. With Zeus dead, there's a new power struggle amongst the gods. Heron begins hearing a mysterious voice in his dreams, telling him to save his brother Seraphim who is trapped in the Underworld. Meanwhile, Hades is trying to convince Seraphim in the Underworld to join him in taking down those who have wronged them and securing Zeus' vacant throne.

T・P BON

T・P BON is set to make its landing on Netflix on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. It's an anime series produced by BONES, the same animation company behind My Hero Academia, and it's based on the science fiction manga Time Patrol Bon by Fujiko F. Fujio.

The story follows an ordinary junior high school student named Bon Namihira, whose life is turned upside down when he meets Ream Steam, a Time Patrol agent from the future, and a strange creature called Buyoyon. Ream Steam is part of a secret organization called the “T・P (Time Patrol),” whose job is to save those who died unfortunate deaths while not significantly altering history’s course. After accidentally intervening in one of Ream Steam's Time Patrol cases, Bon gets enlisted into the same organization and joins Agent Ream in saving innocent lives from the past.

Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf

Mark your calendar and set your alarm because Garouden: The Way of the Lone Wolf is scheduled to be released on Netflix on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET! This is a new action anime series based on the serial novel Garouden by Baku Yumemakura. It centers around a martial artist named Juzo Fujimaki, who is on the run from a past crime. He eventually finds himself blackmailed into joining an illegal underground fighting tournament where he has to go against other skilled martial artists in deadly match-ups.

Japanese voice actor Ryota Takeuchi voices the main character, Juzo Fujimaki. In addition, Tetsu Inada, Shunsuke Takeuchi, Rintaro Nishi, Tessho Genda, Aya Endo, Ryota Suzuki, Hidenobu Kiuchi, Junya Enoki, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Junichi Suwabe, Kenjiro Tsuda, Shiro Saito, Maki Izawa, Yume Miyamoto, and Yuhko Kaida also voice characters in the anime series.

My Oni Girl

Last but not least is the anime film My Oni Girl. Get ready for your heartstrings to be tugged with this movie. It's slated to be released on Netflix on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. It was produced by Studio Colorido, the same animation studio behind Netflix's Drifting Home, and directed by Tomotaka Shibayama from a screenplay he co-wrote with Yuko Kakihara.

Hiiragi is a shy first-year high school student who wants to be liked by everyone, but can't seem to make any friends. That's until one summer day, when he meets headstrong demon girl, Tsumugi, who has come to the human world to find her missing mother. Hiiragi soon finds his once mundane life filled with adventure when Tsumugi drags him along on a mystical journey.

Kensho Ono (A Whisker Away) voices the main role of teen boy Hiiragi, while Miyu Tomita voices the role of spirited demon girl Tsumugi.
