Mandy Moore might have started her career as a teen pop singer with hits like "Candy" and "Crush," but early on in her rise to fame, she proved herself a double threat who could also act. Out of her '90s teen pop peers, who are each still absolutely killing it in their own right, Moore has had the most success with her acting career, starring in big-screen movies and small-screen hits alike.

After making her debut in Disney's The Princess Diaries alongside Anne Hathaway, Moore landed her first starring role in the Nicholas Sparks romance drama A Walk to Remember. Both movies remain millennial classics to this day. In the 2000s, Moore starred in a number of romantic comedies, including How To Deal, Chasing Liberty, Because I Said So, and License to Wed.

However, one of her biggest movie roles arrived when she reunited with Disney to lend her voice to Tangled as Rapunzel, for which she even had the chance to sing at the Oscars. The real Mandy Moore renaissance began in 2016 when she landed the role of Rebecca Pearson in NBC's This Is Us, a beloved series which gave Moore her first Emmy Award nomination.

Where can you watch This Is Us, A Walk to Remember, and more of the prolific singer-songwriter-actress' best movies and shows? We're sharing where to watch six of her top titles!

This Is Us

In This Is Us, Mandy Moore plays perhaps the most important and demanding role in the entire series. As Rebecca Pearson, Moore didn't play just one character; she played at least five. Her performance as Rebecca through time, decades, and seasons of life is nothing short of revelatory. Throughout six seasons, she saw the Pearson matriarch through motherhood, grand-motherhood, loss, death, and all of the beautifully complicated bits in between.

  • Seasons: 6
  • Starring: Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, Ron Cephas Jones, Jon Huertas
  • Where to Watch: Netflix, Hulu

A Walk to Remember

After making her movie debut with a voice role in Dr. Doolittle 2 and a small role in The Princess Diaries (both released in 2001), Moore followed up the next year with her first starring role in A Walk to Remember. She stars as wallflower teen Jamie Sullivan, who falls for bad boy Landon Carter (Shane West). If by some strange circumstance you haven't seen this movie after 20-plus years, here's a warning: Grab the tissues. The ending is sadder than even This Is Us.

  • Release Year: 2002
  • Starring: Shane West, Mandy Moore, Peter Coyote, Daryl Hannah
  • Where to Watch: Netflix (as of January 2024)

Dr. Death

For her first television (or just on-screen in general) role after This Is Us ended in 2022, Moore joined the cast of Peacock's crime anthology series Dr. Death for its second season. The second season isn't related to the first, so if you haven't watched season 1 and want to dive in to support Moore in her role as Benita Alexander, you don't have to worry about missing out on anything important. Dr. Death season 2 and released in full for streaming on Peacock on Dec. 21, 2023.

  • Seasons: 2
  • Starring: Édgar Ramírez, Mandy Moore, Ashley Madekwe, Gustaf Hammarsten, Luke Kirby
  • Where to Watch: Peacock

The Princess Diaries

Even though she wasn't the lead in The Princess Diaries, Moore definitely chewed the scenery as the school mean girl Lana. She's not very nice to Mia, and later switches up on her when word of Mia being a princess goes public, but it's so hard not to have a fondness for her. Mandy Moore is just that likable! And she also had a chance to show off her vocal chops in the movie, performing a cover of "Stupid Cupid" that's been stuck in our heads for over 20 years.

  • Release Year: 2001
  • Starring: Anna Hathaway, Julie Andrews, Héctor Elizondo, Heather Matarazzo, Mandy Moore, Caroline Goodall, Robert Schwartzman
  • Where to Watch: Disney+

47 Meters Down

You never would have anticipated that Mandy Moore would star in a shark movie and that it would be surprisingly popular, but that's exactly what happened with 47 Meters Down in 2017. She starred with The Originals actress Claire Holt in the survival movie, which released right after the blockbuster first season of This Is Us. The movie was a box office smash, making over $62 million on a meager $5 million budget, and spawned a sequel (though Moore isn't in that one).

  • Starring: Claire Holt, Mandy Moore
  • Where to Watch: Starz

Tangled

Since she began her live-action film career at Disney, it's only fitting that Moore would eventually become an official Disney Princess. That's exactly what happened when she took on the role as Rapunzel in the 2010 animated feature Tangled. She sang many songs for the film, including "I See the Light," and reprised the role in Tangled: Before Ever After, Tangled Ever After, and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. Word on the street a live-action remake is in the works. Fingers crossed Moore makes an appearance, even if it's not as Rapunzel.

  • Release Year: 2010
  • Starring: Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Donna Murphy, Brad Garrett, Ron Perlman, Jeffrey Tambor, Richard Kiel, M. C. Gainey, Paul F. Tompkins
  • Where to Watch: Disney+
