Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith have a family even cuter than the Pearsons!

Sorry to disappoint any This Is Us fans currently binge-watching the fan-favorite NBC family drama, which arrived on Netflix for streaming in January 2024, but Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia never dated in real life. They might play the picture perfect couple and parents in the six-season tear-jerker, but the erstwhile Jack and Rebecca Pearson didn't have romance off-screen.

Throughout the span of This Is Us from 2016 to 2022, Moore and Ventimiglia had fielded questions from fans shipping them together due to their chemistry as Jack and Rebecca. Early on in the show's run, Ventimiglia shut down the murmurs of the co-stars potentially dating. After all, Mandy Moore had already been dating singer-songwriter and Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith since 2015.

Even though Moore swapped symbolic vows with Ventimiglia, as he revealed on The Tonight Show, she exchanged real vows with Goldsmith in November 2018 after getting engaged in September 2017. The pair originally met in 2015 through Instagram of all places when she expressed her excitement for Dawes' album All Your Favorite Bands. (Here's the post that started it all!)

Moore and Goldsmith became parents in February 2021 with the birth of their son August "Gus" Harrison Goldsmith. In October 2022, they become parents again with the brith of their second son Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett Goldsmith. If I don't say so myself, the Moore-Goldsmith family is just as cute — if not even cuter — than the Pearson family. Gus looks just like Mandy, and Ozzie just like Taylor!

While some celebrities choose to keep photos of their children out of the public eye, Moore gives her followers an inside look at her adorable family, sharing photos and videos of her children on Instagram. It's such a joy to see how proud she is of her kids, especially after playing the ultimate TV mom for six seasons in This Is Us. Before becoming a mother in real life, she played a grandmother!

Apart from having an amazing family to be proud of, Moore and Goldsmith have also professionally collaborated as they are both musicians. Goldsmith co-wrote two songs Moore sang as Rebecca in This Is Us: "Invisible Ink (Rebecca's Demo)" and "The Forever Now." Isn't it so special that a show about family became a family affair behind the scenes, too?

The married couple also worked together on Moore's two most recent studio albums, Silver Landings (2020) and In Real Life (2022). Moore and Goldsmith co-wrote every song together along with producer Mike Viola and other collaborators. Hopefully, they will soon put their shared songwriting talents together again for another must-listen album!
