Things are beginning to heat up on Netflix just as the weather begins to warm in the Northern Hemisphere. Not only are we getting closer to summer movie releases, such as Happy Gilmore 2, but some exciting new series are debuting in April on your favorite streamer.

There are also excellent ones returning. These will be binge-watch moments, so you might want to start planning your work vacations now. We aren't saying to call off sick, but you do what you have to do.

As part of the three below is a medical drama. We have not yet seen Netflix do this in quite the same way. The other two are ones you already love.

Three Netflix series coming in April you will want to miss work for

Pulse

Finally, Netflix releases its first English-language medical drama on April 3, 2025. It has been a good year for those kinds of shows across different platforms. The Pitt on Max is excellent, for instance. Pulse will likely be just as good.

The series revolves around (at least in season one) a Level 1 Trauma Center in Miami as the area has just been hit by a hurricane. Willa Fitzgerald plays Dr. Danny Simms who has suddenly been put into the role of Chief Resident, while the former one, Dr. Xander Phillips, played by Colin Woodell, seemingly stays aboard to help deal with the aftermath of the storm.

Black Mirror: Season 7

Your favorite dark series returns on April 10 with six new episodes. The cast includes some of the best and brightest, as Black Mirror is famous for, and includes Paul Giamatti, Awkwafina, Rashida Jones, and Chris O'Dowd, among many, many others. In other words, even if you don't like the plot of a certain episode, you might still love the cast.

But let's be honest: You know you will love the episodes, too. Speaking at Netflix's Geeked Week last year, series creator Charlie Brooker described some of the episodes as "disturbing," but not in a slasher-film kind of way. More psychological. That, of course, should make for even more horrifying scenes. However, some episodes will also give you the giggles. If you know, you know.

You: Season 5

Are you ready for the end starting on April 17? That is what we are getting with Season 5 of a series you might laugh with, even when you might not want to. Is there more killing? One would assume? Will lead character Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley to delicious delight) finally find true happiness? Maybe?

Of course, that has been one of the magic tricks of the show. Even though we assume that lovesick Joe can't help but kill people to help him try to find his own way, we don't know what to expect at the finish. We root for him even though he is a serial killer. How messed up is that?
