It's always an exciting time when a new month begins for multiple reasons, but when it comes to Netflix, a new month means a lot of exciting new releases to check out. Between the latest original series that are either debuting or returning, the streaming service frequently adds a number of small screen favorites, and that's exactly what's happening this fall.
Netflix and Disney recently struck up a new content licensing deal following the success of the companies' previous deal, which has now resulted in the acquisitions of throwbacks and current series like Percy Jackson & the Olympians and Felicity dropping on Netflix. Following these two shows, the streamer will also add the fan-favorite ABC crime drama Will Trent.
Will Trent coming to Netflix ahead of season 5 premiere in 2027
Before the fifth season makes its premiere on ABC sometime in early 2027, Netflix will begin streaming the four latest seasons of Will Trent on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026. Based on the types of shows that find success on Netflix, there's no doubt that the crime drama will discover a whole new group of fans thanks to this deal, and we're certain that The Lincoln Lawyer fans will especially love it.

Like Netflix's hit original legal drama, Will Trent is also based on a series of books, which were written by Karin Slaughter. The series centers on the titular character, played by Ramón Rodríguez, who had a unique upbringing as child in the foster system also grappling with dyslexia. However, Will Trent grew up to become a Special Agent for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
As a police procedural, each episode of the series finds Will Trent tackling another case while also working alongside the Atlanta Police Department. Naturally, Will has a tricky relationship with the police department given a past case that ended with him arresting multiple officers. Not to mention, he's also in an up and down romance with detective Angela Polaski (Erika Christensen).
Right off the bat, these are all the elements that are also in play in The Lincoln Lawyer. Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia Rulfo) has a reputation that precedes him in the legal system, and his personal entanglements are just as complicated as his professional ones—especially since those lines begin to blur with each passing season. But that's why we can't help by love Mickey.

Will Trent and The Lincoln Lawyer also share a similar sense of humor. Even though both shows are crime dramas, they're much lighter than the kind of thrillers we have become accustomed to watching in the streaming era. In that regard, it's the perfect choice for a binge-watch while we're waiting for Mickey Haller to make his return with season 5 sometime next year on Netflix.
While The Lincoln Lawyer will end with its upcoming fifth season, Will Trent season 5 isn't expected to be the show's final season as it's one of the most popular shows on ABC and continues to be popular on Disney's Hulu and Disney+ streaming services. It's unclear whether season 5 will ever make its way to Netflix since seasons 1-4 are part of a limited promotional run for the show.
But fans don't have to worry too much about that right now. Will Trent seasons 1-4 arrive on Netflix this fall and there will be 59 total episodes to binge-watch. The seasons contain 13, 10, 18, and 18 episodes respectively, making for a lengthy watch that's still super quick and entertaining. If you're a fan of The Lincoln Lawyer, this is one show you won't want to miss!
