You read that right, dear viewer. Netflix is adding no less than 38 movies and shows to their rotation this week. And if you think I'm giving a detailed synopsis of every new arrival, well... in the immortal words of Ms. Kimberly Wilkins, "Ain't nobody got time for that."
Holy Hannah. After last week, I'm used to a lighter workload. Granted, most of these properties aren't new, just new to Netflix. There are certainly a lot of classic films in the group, so I'll hit the highlights. Or at least a dozen of them. Maybe even a baker's dozen, lucky you.
Netflix closes out March with three original titles, then bombards us with 27 features on April Fool's Day. Unless they're doing some weird meta-promotion, and not releasing anything on April 1st. Speaking of April Fool's - I've included one fake title in the list. Hopefully, you'll be able to discover it without too much trouble. But considering that Netflix has bankrolled hideous reboots of both Rebecca and The Munsters, maybe I shouldn't give them any ideas.
Netflix adds 38 billion things to watch this week
It will certainly feel like it. Now, you know you're not under any obligation to watch all 38 this week. You'd be much better served to catch a few of the great titles leaving on April 1st. Based on when you read this, you'll have no more than 18 hours to cram in everything you can. Boyz n the Hood, Interstellar, and Love Actually are three titles in particular I'd recommend.
As for the new arrivals, I'm just going to highlight one title. That would be the documentary series Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer. The three-episode series from director Liz Garbus updates the story of the heinous crimes carried out over the years in a small community on the island.
Grabus previously directed 2016's Lost Girls, a drama based on one mother's drive for justice for her daughter. It's also on Netflix and is absolutely worth watching. If you only know Amy Ryan as Holly from The Office, you're in for one solid acting class.
New on Netflix this week: March 30 - April 5
March 31
- Rhythm + Flow Italy season 2
- Promised Hearts
- Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer
Here we are with the new stuff on Netflix. Martin Scorsese's epic romantic drama The Age of Innocence is one of the top choices here. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Winona Ryder, it's too often overlooked among Scorsese's more frequent genres. Bonnie and Clyde is a landmark film in the history of Hollywood crime filmography.
The story of the pair of 1930s bank robbers may only be about 20 percent accurate, if that, but it's one heck of a movie. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway are at their best here.
Okay, that's just two movies in. Let me just throw in a few can't-miss highlights here. All of these films are modern classics. Teen angst has rarely been done better than in The Breakfast Club. Field of Dreams is one of the best baseball movies ever.
Heat does the same for the crime drama, while Matilda is one of the very best family movies ever. I would include Psycho on the list, but as no source has listed whether this is Hitchcock's 1960 classic or the astonishingly useless 1998 remake, I'm skipping it.

On Wednesday, Netflix adds more new stuff. Banger is a comedic remake of a 2022 Czech thriller. Vincent Cassel plays a DJ pulled into a police operation to take down a rival gang. Yes, it sounds ridiculous. But with the exception of Nicolas Cage, no one goes over the top like Cassel, so I'm in. The completely charming Love on the Spectrum is back for a third season as well.
- Banger
- Garnachas: Glorious Street Food!
- Love on the Spectrum (Season 3)
April 3
Pulse is the headliner here. The 10-episode medical drama certainly looks like another big hit for your favorite streamer. Devil May Cry is a Korean animated series based on the extremely popular video game series, and early buzz is that it will match the great Castlevania series in quality. The Jurassic Park spinoff series returns for a third season.
- Devil May Cry
- Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (Season 3)
- Pulse
April 4
Netflix closes out the week with a final trio of new offerings. Karma is a new South Korean crime thriller that promises to be as tense and harrowing as anything we've seen on the streamer so far. Seven Marriage Sonatas is the latest collaboration between Adam Sandler and Netflix. Think of it as a remix of Ingmar Bergman's searing dramas, and you've got the gist of it.
Hey, it worked for Uncut Gems. Finally, Test is a sports drama focused on the top level of cricket. You know, the funny game with the flat baseball bats and typical scores of 320 to 290. Oh yeah, and the U.S. is about the only country that doesn't play.
- Karma
- Seven Marriage Sonatas
- Test
That's it, dear viewers. For the love of all that is holy, I hope you figured out the fake entry. If not, well, good luck with finding it.
