4 most rewatchable Netflix shows perfect for a Fourth of July marathon

We have officially arrived at the peak of the summer: Fourth of July weekend. It's the moment everyone looks forward to each summer, when you can head outside for barbecues and pool parties and beach days full of family, friends, and really great food. Whether you're beating the heat with some ice cream or indulging in a hot dog, you always need some good Netflix shows, too.

This Fourth of July weekend, there's no doubt that Netflix fans are still checking out Harlan Coben's latest miniseries smash I Will Find You and unraveling the gripping mystery. The series became the biggest new Netflix show of the year so far, and everyone can't get enough of the whodunit. You might also be watching the final season of Survival of the Thickest or the new season of Avatar.

But if you have the long weekend off from work and are in search of indoor activities away from the scorching temperatures, there are plenty more Netflix shows with multiple seasons to escape into. We're sharing four shows to marathon this long weekend, and it just so happens three are preparing to release their final seasons and one is headed for removal before the end of 2026.

Outer Banks

What's more summery and binge-worthy than a much-needed rewatch of Outer Banks ahead of the upcoming fifth and final season? There aren't many Netflix shows that are inherently perfect for the summertime, but the Pogues and their world-traveling, gold-hunting, life-or-death adventures are the very definition of summer.

Even if you have already watched seasons 1 through 4 multiple times, it's never too soon to begin another rewatch of Outer Banks. After all, it's been almost two years since the two-part fourth season was released in fall 2024. It's not surprising if some of the specifics of the past storylines have slipped your mind going into the final season on Aug. 20.

However, no fan of OBX could possibly forget the monumental event that happened in season 4 and casts a huge shadow on season 5: JJ's death. In the final season, the Pogues (plus Rafe!) are out for revenge against Chandler Groff and in pursuit of the Blue Crown while also trying to make their way back home. Get ready for the big finish with a Fourth of July weekend binge-watch!

Emily in Paris

If there's any character from a Netflix original series who would be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States in style, it's everyone's favorite ex-pat Emily Cooper. We might have never spent any time with her on American soil, but Emily in Paris wouldn't be the charming and lovable show it is without its deeply Americana, girl-next-door leading character.

The Emmy Award-nominated romantic comedy series will return later this year for the last time. Emily in Paris season 6 will officially bring Emily's adventures abroad to a close with one final batch of episodes to reveal her endgame. Finally, all the jokes on social media about when Emily's work visa ends (and the show as a whole) can cease after the sixth season.

In the season 5 finale, Emily once again found herself single after ending things with Marcello. She received an invitation from Gabriel to join him in Greece, which appears to be coming to fruition based on production on season 6 kicking off in the country. Before Emily's final run premieres on Netflix later this year, spend America's birthday rewatching the delightful rom-com series.

The Night Agent

Who's more American than Peter Sutherland? Hmmm? Exactly. There's no one in a Netflix original series who's a bigger patriot fighting for his country (except maybe Eleven in Stranger Things), and while that may be hyperbole, it's still true. The Night Agent offers so many themes that ring true on the Fourth of July, especially Peter's devotion to serving his country.

Since the Fourth of July is a popular time to watch action blockbusters and war movies, why not return to one of the best action-spy thrillers on Netflix? The Night Agent currently has three incredible seasons available to binge-watch on the streaming service with three completely unique mysteries and missions to unravel alongside our fearless Night Agent.

Like Outer Banks and Emily in Paris, Netflix's hit action drama only has one more new season left to release. The Night Agent season 4, which is currently in production and will welcome back Luciane Buchanan as Rose, will be the final season of the series. There's still a bit of waiting ahead until the final season premieres, but there's no time like the Fourth for another rewatch.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

Last but certainly not least, why not spend the summer holiday weekend with Lorelai and Rory Gilmore? They might be better known for their affinity for the fall and winter seasons as New England residents, but we only have a limited amount of time left with Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on Netflix. That's right, the Netflix original revival miniseries will leave the streamer in November.

The seven original seasons of Gilmore Girls already left Netflix as of July 1 and are now available to stream on Hulu and Prime Video, leaving A Year in the Life the lone part of the show's legacy left on Netflix. When the revival premiered 10 years ago, in November 2016, fans had differing reactions. But it was an amazing and heart-warming reunion with our Stars Hollow favorites.

Not to mention, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life features our most straightforward summer storyline in the show's history. There's an entire episode called "Summer" and Lorelai and Rory uncharacteristically lounge by the community pool. (Who even knew that existed!) If you're in mourning over Gilmore Girls on Netflix, give the underrated revival a necessary rewatch!
