It's been a great year for streaming television, with 2026 bringing us so many amazing new shows and seasons of hit series we love. But the year isn't over yet. There are still plenty of amazing new shows yet to make their premieres across the television landscape, especially on Netflix. The streaming service boasts a list of original series set to drop before the end of 2026, including acquired titles.
From recent broadcast favorites like Murder in a Small Town and Doc to throwback sensations like Major Crimes and Heroes, Netflix has delivered a long list of binge-worthy series throughout the year. This fall, the streamer's dedication to giving its subscribers must-watch shows to add to their watch lists, like one of Taylor Sheridan's most popular crime drama series.
Mayor of Kingstown coming to Netflix in October 2026
As revealed by Netflix and reported on by What's on Netflix, multiple seasons of Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown are set to begin streaming on Netflix globally beginning on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026. The series will be available to watch on Netflix in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Latin America, and other international territories.

Netflix hasn't confirmed how many seasons of Mayor of Kingstown will be dropping on Oct. 5, but there's a strong possibility that all four of the show's current seasons will the leap to Netflix. In the past, Netflix has released a limited number of a show's seasons upon its debut on the streamer, but given the proximity to the show's final season later this year, it's likely to be all four seasons.
Mayor of Kingstown was renewed for a fifth and final season in January 2026, shortly after the fourth season finished up its run on Paramount+ in December 2025. While Paramount+ hasn't announced the premiere date for season 5 as of this writing, the final episodes are expected to begin rolling out before the end of 2026, sometime this fall between late October through December.
If Mayor of Kingstown seasons 1-4 are added to Netflix on Oct. 5, there will be 40 total episodes available for fans new and old to watch. Each season contains 10 episodes, though the final season will contain eight, so Netflix will have anywhere between 10 to 40 episodes—though, again, we're hoping for and expecting the full 40 episodes for viewers to discover or rewatch.
For those who haven't watched Mayor of Kingstown on Paramount+ and will be diving in for the first time, Academy Award-nominated actor and Marvel star Jeremy Renner stars as Mike McLusky, who steps into the titular, symbolic role as the mediator between crime and incarceration in Kingstown. He battles wardens, gang members, and his own family in order to keep his town safe and just.
Earlier this year, Netflix stuck up a streaming deal with Paramount, which included titles like Matlock, Watson, The King of Queens, and others set for arrival on the streamer worldwide. SEAL Team kicked off the deal in the United States in August 2026, and Mayor of Kingstown is the next, following Lawmen: Bass Reeves as the latest Sheridan series to make its way to Netflix.
Mayor of Kingstown begins streaming on Netflix on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026.
