Netflix is about to add a wave of new hit series to its U.S. and international libraries, giving fans the opportunity to watch some of Paramount’s biggest hits on Netflix for the first time ever!
Ahead of its Q4 2025 Earnings Interview, Netflix released its quarterly shareholders letter, offering up a look at the company’s highlights for the upcoming quarter. In looking ahead, Netflix revealed it has struck a new licensing deal with Paramount which will bring 20 shows from the Paramount library to Netflix for the first time both within the U.S. and internationally.
Among the first batch of titles confirmed to be coming to Netflix in the U.S. and in select international territories are Watson, Seal Team, and Mayor of Kingstown. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that international territories will soon be able to watch Matlock and King of Queens via the new deal.
An exact timeline has not been provided regarding when Netflix will begin adding these new licensed series from Paramount. It also remains unclear what seasons of the shows will be arriving on Netflix at their launch with it unknown whether CBS will be adding all seasons for the shows or only select seasons.
The initial list of additions includes some surprising titles, particularly the acquisition of Mayor of Kingstown. The forthcoming release of Mayor of Kingstown on Netflix marks the first time a Taylor Sheridan show will stream on Netflix, and the timing could not be better. Mayor of Kingstown has recently been renewed for a fifth and final season, so it’s arrival on Netflix will help the show reach an even larger audience ahead of its final season.
The move could also prove to help tip the scales in Watson’s favor when it comes time to make a decision on the series’ future. Watson has been on the bubble at CBS with struggles in the ratings department, but Netflix could help the show final a new audience – one that could convince CBS to keep it running should it post large numbers on Netflix. Netflix was known for helping many CW shows during the network’s deal with Netflix, one that helped shows like Riverdale, The Flash, and Dynasty reach larger audiences.
It’ll be interesting to see what additional Paramount titles will arrive on Netflix via this new licensing deal. We’re also going to be watching closely to see how many of the 20 acquired titles arrive in the U.S. versus becoming available only to international audiences.
