Mark Ruffalo joins Natalie Portman on exciting new Lena Dunham Netflix project

Let's do this.

Mark Ruffalo is a star. That hasn't always been the case. He has had a fine career and is a great actor, but he didn't begin by being a consistent movie star. He is now. He shows up in far too many great projects to be eschewed, as far as how many eyeballs he brings to screens now.

Of course, he remains more of a character actor, but there is no shame in that. Real talent lies in bringing out the excellence of well-drawn characters even if they are not part of the Marvel universe. There are other fantastic roles and other award-worthy parts to play.

One of these might be coming to Netflix soonish. We already knew that Natalie Portman and Lena Dunham were working on a film project titled Good Sex, where Portman's character is trying to find love, only to find herself torn between a 50-something and a 20-something. Ruffalo will play the 50-something.

We now know that the 20-something will be played by Tucker Pillsbury. If you don't know who Pillsbury is, then you are not cool (to be fair, I had to look him up). His day job is spent working as a singer-songwriter who goes by the moniker Role Model. He has released two albums. He also has nearly a million followers on Instagram, so lots of people know who he is.

Portman will be one of the producers and Dunham will be another. Dunham also wrote the script and will direct the film. In other words, the ladies will be working hard and driving this project forward. Based on the track histories, we should be highly entertained.

Dunham is also returning to TV/streaming with Netflix in a new series called Too Much. That drops on July 10 and will star Megan Stalter and Will Sharpe. The story will follow a businesswoman who is getting out of a long-term relationship in New York and decides to move to London to begin life anew. That is when she meets Sharpe's character. Sounds like fun.
