Lena Dunham knows how to write comedy for streaming and TV. Her HBO Max show Girls is a must-watch, even though there are no new episodes. If you liked Sex and the City, you will love Girls. You will probably also love Dunham's new show, Too Much, which arrives soon on Netflix.

The series follows a workaholic New Yorker, Jessica (Meg Stalter), who is getting out of a long-term relationship and needs a change. What else to do but take a job in London and move to England, right? Jessica has no intention of getting into another relationship soon, but life happens.

In London, she meets Felix (Will Sharpe), who has a lot of personal stuff going on. The question we might not ever truly answer on the series is whether Jessica and Felix become a real couple or whether they just remain friends and help each other get through life.

Netflix drops trailer and guest appearances named for Lena Dunham's new series, Too Much

Thankfully, we might start to get answers when the series drops on Netflix on Thursday, July 10. We can assume the show will be well-written as Dunham is at the helm, and relationships won't be so simple. They will be dynamic and real, just as any great show has.

There are also going to be a ton of guest appearances from actors you know well. What roles they play are not yet known, but we do not want to know them yet, right? Surprises are half the fun of watching a series.

The announced guest stars include Jessica Alba, Kit Harrington. Rita Ora, Jennifer Saunders, and Andrew Scott.

Cast of Too Much (according to Variety):

  • Megan Stalter as Jessica
  • Will Sharpe as Felix
  • Aylin Scott as Cheryl
  • Antonio Aakeel as Raven
  • Janicza Bravo
  • Richard E. Grant
  • Leo Reich
  • Daisy Bevan
  • Adele Exarchopoulos
  • Dean-Charles Chapman
  • Rita Wilson
  • Naomi Watts
  • Prasanna Puwanarajah
  • Andrew Rannells
  • Rhea Perlman
  • Stephen Fry
  • Kaori Momoi
  • Adwoa Aboah

In the trailer below, Jessica breaks into the home of her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend and tells him that breaking up with her is his worst move ever. Jessica then moves to London, meets Felix while he is playing music in a bar, and then they have multiple fights throughout the rest of the trailer. Sounds...fun?

Surely, there will be light touches along with all the melodrama. One can only take so much.
