Harlan Coben's next Netflix thriller just moved closer to its debut

Are we out of The Woods yet? Are we in the clear yet? Sources say yes!

Harlan Coben's upcoming Netflix show, The Woods, has officially wrapped production. Quay Street Productions announced on Instagram that the cast and crew finished filming on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. Coben shared the news on his personal Instagram, as well, so you know the news is real.

Last month, Michelle Keegan, who stars in the series along with Tom Bateman, revealed in an appearance on The BBC that production would continue before finishing in October. It looks like Keegan's assessment was accurate. Now, Coben's next thriller from Danny Brocklehurst moves on to post-production.

For those who are unfamilar with this project but think this show sounds familiar, you would be correct! Coben's book of the same name has already been adapted as a Polish Netflix original series. This is the UK version, and it has a killer cast stepping into the lead roles with Keegan, who also starred in Fool Me Once, Bateman, Pearce Quigley, Mandeep Dhillon, James Buckley, Rade Sherbedgia, Tom Allen, Dean Fagan, Pamela Nomvete, Shannon Watson, Roger Barclay, and more.

The story revolves around Paul, a lawyer who was part of a horrible incident at a summer camp in his youth two decades earlier. When new facts are revealed about the case, Paul finds himself trying to find the truth about what really happened that night in the woods and what has happened since then.

The Woods is lined up for an early 2027 premiere on Netflix

The Woods has been filming for quite a long time. Production on the upcoming series started in the UK in April and lasted through the summer and early fall. Now that production is finished, we can start to look ahead and predict when The Woods will be released on Netflix.

Look, I know Coben's fans are dying for the next Netflix series. I Will Find You, which premiered on Netflix this summer, is the biggest of Coben's Netflix shows ever. Unfortunately, we're going to be waiting until 2027 until the new series premieres on Netflix, but I don't think we'll be waiting all that long before The Woods premieres.

The Woods should be lined up to premiere on New Year's Day on Netflix. We've seen so many of Coben's Netflix shows premiere on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. Production wrapped just in time for the editors and everyone involved with post-production and promotion to really get the series done for New Year's Day.

Netflix hasn't confirmed that The Woods will premiere in early 2027. With production wrapping now, I don't see why there would be any trouble getting this series ready for the time when Coben's fans are expecting his shows.

Of course, we also have Myron Bolitar in the mix, too, and it looks like that show has just wrapped filming, as well. In theory, that's a show we could see on New Year's Day, as well. With that said, it's more likely that The Woods would be released in that special slot Netflix has reserved for Coben's shows for the last four years. Each of those has been a UK show, so I think Netflix will stick with that plan for The Woods, as well.
