There's an unfortunate update to share about Ginny and Georgia season 4 that fans aren't going to like so much. As excitement has started to rise for the drama series' big comeback, well over a year after the third season premiered in June 2025, Netflix has handed the fan-favorite original series a newly confirmed release window. Unfortunately, it's not in 2026.
While we previously had hope that Ginny and Georgia season 4 would be released in 2026, as teased by Netflix boss Ted Sarandos last year, and break the show's two-years-between-seasons curse, another update back in January had us seriously doubting whether the series would still return this year. Still, when filming wrapped in March, our faith for a return in 2026 was restored.
Sadly, Netflix has quietly thrown water on our hopes all over again. The streaming service shared a list of its upcoming young adult shows and movies still coming in 2026 and beyond. Ginny and Georgia season 4 was included on this list, but rather than having a release date sometime later this year like the other titles, the series is one of the four shows confirmed for release in 2027.

Netflix confirms Ginny and Georgia season 4 is coming in 2027
Yes, Ginny and Georgia season 4 will be released in 2027, as confirmed by Netflix. The streaming service didn't provide a larger release window for the upcoming season, such as a in which month or even season to expect season 4 to drop. Hopefully, we won't be waiting too long into the new year for the latest episodes to arrive, since it's already been over one year after season 3's release.
Ginny and Georgia has previously been released in the first two months of the year, as the first season premiered in February 2021 and the second season arrived in January 2023. The third season had the longest push, moving the show into the spring-summer cusp in June 2025. For season 4, the series could return to the early months of the year with a drop in January or February.
In an effort to hold us over until 2027, Netflix revealed the official season 4 synopsis:
"Georgia Miller has dodged a murder charge! So life is finally back to normal. Except that the Millers are broke again. And Georgia’s pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is. And strange things keep happening, hinting that maybe Georgia’s past isn’t willing to stay buried. Ginny is desperate to break the cycle of chaos, and Georgia is desperate to prove to her kids that she can. And as for Austin… well… this season it’s him against the world. The family is at a turning point. But when push comes to shove, will the Millers be able to start fresh? Or will the past pull them back in?"

There have been incorrect rumors about the release date swirling around, as we now know they are both incorrect and just rumors with Netflix's confirmation of the show's delay to 2027. Some have supposed that Ginny and Georgia would be back in November or December 2026 with the trailer coming this fall, but that's clearly not the case. The wait has been extended.
It's a frustrating reality for fans, who are once again going a full calendar year without a new season of the series. A series, mind you, that doesn't require any special effects work in post-production. It's not as if it's a show like Stranger Things with big-budget work needed to bring impossible realities to life. This is a simple comedy-drama based in reality that shouldn't take as long to release as it does.
Ginny and Georgia's delay, while not out of the ordinary for the show to release every two years, might have some fans wondering about what this could mean for its future. Netflix hasn't designated season 4 as the final season yet, but pushing the show back and avoiding the show's first annual release poses questions about season 5 's fate. For now, we'll have to just remain patient and optimistic.
