People can't get enough of the complicated mother-daughter duo, and consistently tune in to watch their messy, emotional, and often heartbreaking relationship unfold.

After three amazing seasons, Ginny and Georgia is set to return with its highly anticipated fourth season. The teen series was renewed for a fourth installment back in May 2023, which was prior to the third season's release. The season 3 finale ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, so fans are more than ready to dive back in and see how everything plays out.

So, when exactly is Ginny and Georgia season 4 set to drop? That's where things get tricky. While it was initially believed that the fourth season would be coming out sometime this year, there's a possibility that things might have changed. Ginny and Georgia season 4 might be delayed to 2027

On Jan. 7, Netflix released its 2026 lineup of upcoming series, and notably, Ginny and Georgia season 4 was nowhere to be found. The absence has immediately raised concerns that the fan-favorite teen drama won’t be returning anytime soon. In fact, some news outlets are even saying that the fourth season has been delayed to next year.

If you've been keeping up with every new update concerning Ginny and Georgia season 4, this news should come as a surprise. Why? Well, the fourth installment was originally confirmed to be coming out this year. Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos had previously announced this in the streamer’s Q3 earnings call. So, what happened?

The cast and crew started filming the fourth season back in October 2025 and are expected to wrap sometime in February of this year. Is it because of post-production? Is that why Ginny and Georgia season 4 might not come out this year? The teen series is known for having a pretty lengthy post-production process, and there's typically been a two-year gap between seasons.

The third season came out in June 2025, so a 2027 release for the fourth season would continue the show’s usual two-year cycle. But why did Sarandos originally say that Ginny and Georgia season 4 would be released this year? That's where confusion comes in.

It's not all bad news, though. In a press release sent via email about its 2026 series slate, Netflix included a disclaimer. It reads, "The full slate can be found below, but please note, this list is not comprehensive to all titles launching in 2026, select title announcements will come later in the year." Perhaps Ginny and Georgia season 4 is one of those select titles that will be announced at a later date sometime this year. That's what we're hoping for! But for now, fans will have to stay patient and keep their fingers crossed.
