From the second the calendar flipped from 2025 to 2026, it's been a great year for Netflix shows. Kicking the year off on the heels of the Stranger Things series finale was an incredible jump start that paved the way for countless series to premiere or return with new seasons in 2026. Netflix launched blockbuster limited series alongside its most popular originals, a trend that's not stopping in 2027.

If you thought 2026 was a year filled with can't-miss releases, we're already gearing up for another 12 months of Netflix dropping hit series after hit series. Unfortunately, some shows that were targeted for release in 2026, like Ginny & Georgia and The Witcher, have been pushed to 2027. Sure, that's a bummer, but that just means next year will be that much better.

Before 2026 has even come to an end, we have a long list of well over 20 Netflix shows that are primed for release sometime in 2027. Between new limited series from mystery master Harlan Coben to a number of final seasons, it's time to get excited for what Netflix has in store for us next year. Below, we're sharing the streamer's shows that are confirmed to be coming in 2027!

Netflix shows coming in 2027

Despite what some viewers might think, Netflix spend a decent amount of 2026 renewing its original series. There have been far more renewals than cancellations, which means a lot of shows that dropped new seasons on Netflix in either 2025 or 2026 and were renewed for another season will likely return in 2027. Some shows are even coming sooner than anticipated.

For the first time in its run, Bridgerton will be breaking its two-year release pattern. Netflix confirmed that the romantic drama's fifth season will make its premiere in 2027 following the fourth season's release in 2026. In the past, the beloved show's next season wouldn't have been released until 2028, but the streamer thankfully moved ahead with Francesca's season much faster.

Netflix's 2027 roster already has confirmed releases like the final seasons of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, The Night Agent, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Lincoln Lawyer, and The Witcher. There could be more final seasons in store depending on updates that arise for other original series ahead of their returns. But it's definitely going to be a year of goodbyes on Netflix.

While Netflix hasn't explicitly stated that some of these shows will release in 2027, it's essentially a done deal based on certain shows' annual release patterns and current filming updates. Plenty of shows have either wrapped filming or started production on their upcoming seasons in 2026, ensuring that they will be able to make a premiere sometime in 2027.

Netflix will finally be dropping new seasons of shows we have been waiting a long time to return, like All of Us Are Dead, Supacell, Wednesday, and Dept. Q at some in the year. But we won't have to wait too long for shows like Running Point, Tires, Virgin River, The Four Seasons, Beauty in Black, and more Netflix shows that have been known to return on an annual cadence.

Right now, these are the Netflix shows that are either confirmed or officially expected to premiere in 2027. It's going to be an entertaining year full of shows we love. Once we get into the new year, Netflix will start announcing release dates and additional shows that are set for release at some point in 2027.
