The summer movie season is upon us. The great thing is that we don't have to leave our homes to see a film that will take our minds off things for a couple of hours. We can stream instead.

OK, sure. Going to the theaters is a fun thing to do. But maybe make your living room into a pretend theater. Regarding Netflix and the films being released in June and July, your time will be worth it.

But what is coming out and when? We have that information for you below.

All the movies Netflix is releasing in June and July 2025

Straw (June 6)

This will be the summer of Tyler Perry (he has two movies coming out on Netflix), but this film will likely pack a wallop. The narrative follows a single mother, who seemingly, out of desperation, does things she doesn't want to do to support herself. She gets mixed up with the wrong people and has to try to stop her downward spiral before it's too late.

Cast:

  • Taraji P. Henson
  • Sherri Shepherd
  • Teyana Taylor
  • Sinbad
  • Rockmond Dunbar
  • Ashley Versher
  • Mike Merrill
  • Glynn Turman

Titan: The OceanGate Disaster (June 11)

This documentary is about the Titan submersible that was destroyed (and all the lives lost) in 2023 when it attempted to view the ruins of the Titanic. We should learn the entire story here.

KPop Demon Hunters (June 20)

This animated flick is about a girl band who are really demon hunters. They must take down their adversaries, which happen to be a boy band who are...you guessed it... demons.

  • May Hong
  • Ji-young Yoo
  • Yunjin Kim
  • Joel Kim Booster
  • Liza Koshy
  • Daniel Dae Kim
  • Ken Jeong

The Old Guard 2 (July 2)

The first Old Guard was pretty great, so this should be as well. Lots of action and Charlize Theron? What is not to like? This time, the immortal warriors must take down a threat that could end their existence. Silly? Maybe, but fantastic all the same.

Cast:

  • Charlize Theron
  • KiKi Layne
  • Matthias Schoenaerts
  • Marwan Kenzari
  • Luca Marinelli
  • Veronica Ngô
  • Henry Golding
  • Uma Thurman
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor

Brick (July 10)

The residents of an apartment building have suddenly found themselves facing a wall—not a proverbial one, but one that has been built overnight. There is seemingly no way out, so the residents have to join together to figure out how to get out.

Cast:

  • Matthias Schweighöfer
  • Ruby O. Fee
  • Frederick Lau
  • Salber Lee Williams
  • Murathan Muslu
  • Axel Werner
  • Sira-Anna Faal
  • Alexander Beyer

Madea’s Destination Wedding (July 11)

The second Tyler Perry film of the summer will surely be more of a hoot than the first. In the latest iteration of Madea's chaotic world, she and her friends must go to the Bahamas to fix an issue where Tiffany suddenly becomes engaged to a rap she met on a yacht.

Cast:

  • Tyler Perry
  • Cassi Davis Patton
  • David Mann
  • Tamela Mann
  • Taja V. Simpson
  • Diamond White
  • Jermaine Harris

Apocalypse in the Tropics (July 14)

If you live somewhere where you think politics and religion mix too much, just wait. You might be surprised what you find out in this documentary about Brazil.

Happy Gilmore 2 (July 25)

Thirty years after the original, Happy returns, only he is older and (maybe) wiser. We assume there is a lot of scenes involving golf and a bunch of hijinks. We can also assume there will be many laughs and a ton of cameos (see the cast list below).

Cast:

  • Adam Sandler
  • Julie Bowen
  • Christopher McDonald
  • Ben Stiller
  • Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio
  • Travis Kelce
  • John Daly

  • Philip Schneider
