Black Doves season 2 release date quietly confirmed for fall 2026

It's been a long time coming for the Netflix original spy thriller Black Doves to return with its second season, but the streaming service quietly shared the follow-up season's return date. Thankfully, the series will be dropping its highly anticipated new episodes before 2026 comes to an end, which is an amazing update given the delays that have kept the show off our watch lists.

According to What's on Netflix, Netflix revealed the Black Doves season 2 release date for Thursday, Nov. 5 during the Edinburgh TV Festival while the streamer's UK division was presenting its forthcoming collection of content coming soon. As of this writing, Netflix hasn't shared the official release date with the public, but the rumored release date was shared by festival attendees.

Black Doves season 2 gets November 2026 release date

Following its premiere back in December 2024, Black Doves season 2 took longer than expected to get back into production despite being renewed prior to its debut. Filming was delayed from summer 2025 to the fall, which set back the release date even further and took a release in 2025 off the table. But once cameras started rolling, a 2026 release date was suddenly, finally, back in view.

Still, with the Black Doves season 2 release date announcement coming down to what some might view as the wire, fans probably started doubting whether new episodes would be arriving before the end of the year after all. Netflix has already shared release dates for a long list of original series coming out between August and December, but Black Doves hasn't had any updates.

We can now effectively begin our countdown for the second season's release date on Nov. 5, which is the perfect time for Netflix to release the new season. The streamer has a packed schedule in October with East of Eden, Below, The Diplomat season 4, Hollywood Arts, and Lupin season 4, and the rest of November boasts The Body, The Altruists, and The Hunting Wives season 2.

The only Netflix show currently dated for December 2026 is the final season of Emily in Paris, which has taken claim over the major Christmas Eve release date. Black Doves season 2 could have come out in December, like the first season, but let's look at the bright side. The November release date prevents the series from actually making fans wait for two full years.

Black Doves season 2 once again features Keira Knightley, Ben Whishaw, and Sarah Lancashire in leading roles, while the second season welcomes the following new cast members: Ambika Mod, Neve Campbell, Babou Ceesay, Sam Riley, Sylvia Hoeks, Goran Kostic, and Samuel Barnett. We can't wait to meet the latest friends and enemies who will help or hurt Helen's double life.
