Stranger Things is the best new show of 2016 and could be the next big thing for Netflix. The show was released on July 15 with eight episodes that feel like a throwback to the best Stephen King and Steven Spielberg movies from the 80s. This supernatural thriller combines elements from Stand by Me, The Goonies, Jaws, IT and E.T. with a modern X-Files twist. It’s a killer combination that made for an addicting binge-watch for viewers.

The show begins with the disappearance of Will Byers after a mysterious monster lurked around Hawking, Indiana in 1983. The resulting investigation into the boy’s whereabouts leaves the police and the boy’s family and friends onto a government experiment/conspiracy and one mysterious little girl with some pretty rad special powers.

Watch the show and you won’t be disappointed. This is one of the rare shows that definitely lives up to all the hype surrounding it in every way. This is the best Netflix Original series so far and sure to be a contender for Best Drama Series at the Emmys as long as it’s making new seasons.
