3 best TV shows coming to Netflix (and 2 shows leaving) in October 2026

We're reach that time of each month when Netflix reveals the full list of new release movies and shows coming in the next month. As well all know well by now, that list of new releases also comes with a list of removals that's just as long. That's just the way it works with Netflix.

In October 2026, we're going to be treated to a number of excellent new Netflix original series, like East of Eden, Below, The Diplomat, Nobody Wants This, and Lupin. Ben Affleck also premieres his new movie Animals on top of all the other must-watch movies and shows hitting the streamer.

Thankfully, October's Netflix new releases also include some small-screen favorites, like Jeremy Renner's Paramount+ crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown and the farewell season of The CW's All American. However, the streamer will also be taking away shows like Halo and more.

Mayor of Kingstown seasons 1-4

Coming to Netflix on Oct. 5

If you aren't a subscriber to Paramount+ and have been missing Mayor of Kingstown, Netflix's recent deal with Paramount is bring the Jeremy Renner crime thriller to the fold. Before the fifth and final season debuts on Paramount+ soon, Netflix is adding the four current seasons to its ranks on Oct. 5 to give new viewers, and even established fans, a chance to check out the series. Those who enjoy Harlan Coben's mystery limited series definitely need to check out the gripping drama.

All American season 8

Coming to Netflix on Oct. 6

The best eras of The CW have already come to an end, but the last surviving series of the network's glory days is officially closing the book on the past. All American season 8 comes to Netflix on Oct. 6, eight days after the series finale airs on The CW, and marks the football drama's last season to drop on the streamer. For the last time, fans can catch up with all their favorite characters and see how the series comes to an end. Plus, it's the perfect time for a full series binge-watch.

Blindspotting seasons 1-2

Coming to Netflix on Oct. 20

Beyond Mayor of Kingstown and All American, which are the two most high-profile TV shows coming in October, Netflix also adds a number of smaller batches of shows, like a few seasons of NCIS and a few short-lived shows most might have missed. That includes the Starz series Blindspotting, which aired from 2021 to 2023 and directly follows the 2018 film of the same name. All told, the dramedy features 16 total episodes, which makes for a quick binge when the show drops on Oct. 20.

Halo seasons 1-2

Leaving Netflix on Oct. 1

Last October, Netflix added both seasons of the Paramount+ sci-fi series Halo, which is based on the video game of the same name. While the series wasn't able to attain the kind of success necessary on its home streamer to enjoy a lengthy run, Halo found a second life on Netflix as fans new and old discovered or rediscovered its 17 episodes. Well, it's time has run out. If you need one more quick binge-watch, make sure you do it quickly before the series is removed on Oct. 1.

Dawson's Creek seasons 1-6

Leaving Netflix on Oct. 3

Once again, Dawson's Creek is being removed from Netflix. It seems like the beloved '90s teen drama is always coming and going from this streaming service. This is the show's second time this decade puling a disappearing act from Netflix, and it hits especially hard this time since series star James Van Der Beek passed away earlier this year. Thankfully, all six seasons of Dawson's Creek remain available to streaming Hulu and Disney+ with a bundle.
