All American season 8 sets the show's final Netflix release in October 2026

It's the end of an era all over again for The CW and, in turn, Netflix. The broadcast network, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary but has become a shell of its former self in the wake of Nexstar's total overhaul a few years ago. The CW says goodbye to All American, the last remaining original series from the network's previous regime, which comes in tandem with the show's final Netflix drop.

When The CW underwent extreme changes, All American was the only of the network's series to continue hanging on. However, last year, The CW finally renewed the sports drama series for its final season. All American season 8 made its premiere in July 2026, and with the bittersweet series finale coming before the end of September, the show's last Netflix date has been set.

All American season 8 coming to Netflix in October 2026

Keeping in line with the deal that The CW and Netflix put in place when the two entities did have a deal in the past, All American season 8 will be released eight days after the series finale airs on The CW. Following the final episode's airing on Monday, Sept. 28, the complete 13-episode season will become available to stream on Netflix on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

If you have been waiting for your chance to watch All American season 8 and have been dodging spoilers since this summer, there's only a small amount of waiting left to do. While the series has been airing weekly and streaming on The CW's website and app, it's completely understandable if superfans have been trying to stay patient until the full season is available to binge-watch.

Following the sixth season, All American changed shape a bit for its last two season. Daniel Ezra and a number of other main characters left the show in a series regular capacity in order for a new batch of high school athletes to shine. However, each of the cast members who left after season 6 have returned for guest appearances or will return for the series finale.

The series finale, which is titled "To Live and Die in LA," will be especially impactful for long-time fans as Spencer takes center stage all over again. Additionally, Daniel Ezra returns in front of the camera, but the actor is also helming the show's final episode as its director. All American comes full circle with its former main character and series star seeing off fans and each iteration of the cast.

All told, All American ends its run with 132 total episodes and becomes one of the longest-running modern shows to hail from The CW, alongside the likes of Arrow, The Flash, and Riverdale, which all debuted in the 2010s. It's unlikely that the network will ever have a show reach this milestone in the near future with its roster of acquisitions with capped episode counts.

The arrival of All American season 8 on Netflix on Tuesday, Oct. 6 truly and officially ends an era for The CW. Thankfully, the series will remain available on the streamer for another five years. Revel in the nostalgic good old days and see how the series ends this fall.
