After an explosive part 1 that ended on a shocking cliffhanger, Beauty in Black season 2 is finally back with its remaining episodes. On March 19, Netflix released Beauty in Black season 2 part 2, and fans immediately swarmed the streaming platform to catch up on the Bellarie family’s escalating drama.

Shortly after the new episodes dropped, the series skyrocketed to the top of Netflix's top 10 TV shows list. However, this didn't come as a surprise because Beauty in Black is one of Tyler Perry’s most talked‑about dramas. In this second and final part, we continue to follow Kimmie as she navigates her newfound role as the Bellarie empire’s COO while facing fierce opposition from family members who believe she doesn’t belong.

By the end of the season, Kimmie finds herself in a much better place and even in alliance with someone she least expected. Luckily, this isn't the end of the hit drama series either. Prior to the release of part 2, Netflix officially renewed Beauty in Black for a third and final season.

In other words, we can expect to see Kimmie and the Bellarie family on our screens one more time. But there’s a bittersweet twist for fans eager to get back into the story. The release window for Beauty in Black season 3 isn’t as soon as many hoped.

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but series creator Tyler Perry has just shared an update about Beauty in Black season 3’s release that’s sure to disappoint fans. Although Netflix renewed the drama series for a third and final installment way back in December 2025, the wait for its return won’t be short.

We had initially thought we'd get to see Beauty in Black season 3 by the end of 2026, but now we know that won't be the case. Perry confirmed this much in a new interview. On March 26, Perry was a guest on the Sherri talk show. He was there to talk about Beauty in Black season 2 part 2, as well as his upcoming new Netflix show, Where There’s Smoke.

But before talking about Where There's Smoke, he quickly mentioned that the cast and crew have already shot Beauty in Black season 3 and that the final installment won't be released until next year. No, you didn't read that wrong. Even though filming for Beauty in Black season 3 is already complete, fans will have to wait until 2027 to see the final installment unfold on Netflix.

The third and final season is made up of only six episodes, which is shorter than previous seasons. While this is a bummer, it could possibly mean that we’ll see Beauty in Black season  3 at the top of next year. The last episodes shouldn't take long in post-production. Perhaps the final installment will be given a March release again, following the pattern set by Beauty in Black season 2 part 2.

We'd like to see it even earlier than that, but a release any later than March 2027 just seems like an unnecessarily long wait. With it being the last season and all, we're probably looking at an early 2027 release. But again, this is just a release prediction. We'll definitely get back to you with the official release date once Netflix makes the big announcement. But for now, you'll just have to stay tuned to Netflix Life!

All 16 episodes of Beauty in Black season 2 are available to stream on Netflix.
