“Chilling, sarcastic and spooky” are all the names that defined Wednesday, the famous Netflix show from 2022.

It was remarkable how in a very short span of time, the show rose to fame globally. Even though season 1 was released two years ago, it still continues to garner unwavering support from its fanbase worldwide. Due to this highly increasing love and demand for Wednesday, the show announced the making of a second season in January 2023.

But despite the plans for the second season, the shoot couldn’t even start until May of 2024. There are various reasons for this delay, but among them, and notably the most important of them all, is the walk-off by The Writers Guild of America (WGA). This matter later on became the second longest strike in the union's history when WGA agreed to deal by September 2023.

However, the good news is that the shoot for season 2 has finally been wrapped up as Netflix celebrated this by sharing a never-seen-before image of not-so-happy Wednesday (Jenna Ortega). We don’t have the release date for the show yet but it is said to hit the screens by late 2025.

The show is expected to have eight episodes, just the way it was in season 1, with the first episode titled “Here We Woe Again." However, Nevermore Academy is going to miss some regular faces from season 1, like Percy Hynes White and Naomi J. Ogawa. Both their names were seemingly missing from the list of returning and guest cast members from the previous season.

By the looks of the teaser released by Netflix, season 2 is definitely going to continue to keep up with the eerie expectations of its audience. With a seemingly new case of investigation, the overall feel of season 2 is unquestionably grimmer and more horror than before. It seems like a must-watch for all those who admired the class performance given by all its characters in Season 1, among which Jenna Ortega tops the list.

In the end, season 2 of Wednesday, looks very promising and feels like a good reward for waiting all these months patiently by its fans. But even if someone hasn’t seen the first season, they can easily catch up as the show is quite grippingly interesting throughout!
