We all know 2025 was an epic year for Netflix. There have been so many awesome shows released this year, including the final seasons of Stranger Things and Squid Game, along with new seasons of Ginny and Georgia, Wednesday, and more.
While we all love returning shows, the new Netflix shows of 2025 have also been really good. We all know how big Adolescence and The Hunting Wives became after they were released on Netflix. There are still so many new Netflix shows that you probably didn't watch this year.
That's where we come in! Before the year ends, I wanted to share a list of some of my favorite new Netflix shows of 2025. Let's get the list started with Harlan Coben's Missing You.
Missing You

Missing You premiered on Netflix on New Year's Day 2025, like a lot of Coben's new Netflix shows. It was the first new Netflix shows of the year.
The series is based on Coben's mystery novel of the same name. It tells the story of detective Kat Donovan, played by Rosalind Eleazar.
Kat is sucked back into the mystery of her missing boyfriend, who vanished without a trace. When she reconnects with him on a dating website, Kat can't help but find him. She also learns some new information about her father's murder years earlier, and she tries to solve that case as well.
We also have Coben's new series Run Away coming to Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. You might as well watch Missing You before checking out Run Away this holiday season.
Zero Day

Robert De Niro's first big TV role is a good one! Zero Day premiered on Netflix on Feb. 20, 2025, and it was a pretty big hit for Netflix. Honestly, I think it could have been an even bigger hit based on how well these kinds of political thrillers perform on Netflix.
Zero Day tells the story of George Mullen (De Niro), a former President of the United States who gets involved with the investigation involving a massive cyber attack on the United States.
Created by Eric Newman, Zero Day has a fantastic cast with Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Angela Bassett, Bill Camp, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Dan Stevens, Matthew Modine, McKinley Belcher III, and Ryan Spahn.
If you like shows like The Diplomat, The Recruit, or The Night Agent, you should definitely check it out on Netflix before the end of the year.
Running Point

If you're looking for a new comedy to watch before the year ends, I highly recommend watching Running Point starring Kate Hudson.
Created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, Elaine Ko, and David Stassen, the series follows Isla (Hudson), who takes over the family's professional basketball team. She realizes quickly that she's in over her head, but that's not going to stop her.
If you like shows like Ted Lasso, Running Point is the show for you! It's like a workplace comedy series with a basketball/sports twist.
Running Point is coming back for season 2 on Netflix in 2026.
The Four Seasons

Speaking of comedies coming back for season 2 in 2026, we also have The Four Seasons, which was probably one of my favorite shows of the year, not even just on Netflix. I loved everything about this show, except for one specific aspect later in the season that I will not talk about right now.
The Four Seasons is inspired by Alan Alda's film of the same name that follows a group of adult friends through several seasons of their lives. There's a lot of drama, but there's also a lot of fun, too!
The best part about this show is its epic cast! The Four Seasons stars Tina Fey, who also co-created the series, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani, and Erika Henningsen.
Black Rabbit

I'm a huge Jason Bateman fan, so Black Rabbit definitely makes the list for me! It's not quite as good as Ozark, but if you're looking for a thrilling crime drama to watch on Netflix, Black Rabbit is the one for you.
The series stars Bateman and Jude Law as Vince and Jake Friedkin, two brothers who open a restaurant and bar in New York City before their relationship turns sour. When Vince comes back into the picture, everything starts to crumble.
Is Black Rabbit the best crime drama of the year? No, but it's a really good crime drama with an awesome cast, great performances, and lots of intrigue. And, that's good enough.
The Beast in Me

The Beast in Me is the most recently released of the shows on the list, and a lot of people did watch, but I still feel like not enough people watched this show if that makes sense. It's such a great, unhinged mystery series. Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys deliver incredible, chaotic performances.
The series tells the story of Aggie Wiggs, played by Danes. She's an author who is struggling with crippling grief. She can't write, and her life is falling apart, until a real estate mogul, Nile Jarvis, played by Rhys, moves in next door. Nile was suspected of killing his wife years earlier. Aggie takes an interest in telling Nile's story for her next project.
The Beast in Me is a must-watch for thriller and mystery fans. It's that good, and I don't know if people even know how great this show is.
So, that's the list of the six brand-new Netflix shows you need to watch before the year ends if you missed them when they were released!
