With another year coming to an end, it means we’re looking back on what’s happened. Netflix brought some excellent shows throughout the year, but you don’t have time to watch them all. We’re looking at the five best Netflix shows that you need to make time for before 2024 comes to an end.
Sure enough, there was something for everyone throughout the year. Some shows were limited series, while others were new seasons of current shows. Whether you want crime dramas, romance, or even horror, there is something for you on this list.
Here are five Netflix shows you need to check out before 2024 ends. And no, we can’t believe 2024 has come to an end, either!
Fool Me Once
The Harlan Coben shows are some of the best limited series on Netflix. Fool Me Once definitely had some excellent twists along the way, with the end one not the easiest to see coming. Well, unless you’d read the book that is! I’m not even going to tease the twist for those who haven’t seen it.
Fool Me Once follows a woman who is trying to deal with the sudden loss of her husband. He was shot and killed in the park in front of her. Well, that’s what she thought. She turns up on her daughter’s nanny cam, she has to figure out what’s going on with her in-laws. What are they hiding?
The Gentlemen
For the comedy fans out there, The Gentlemen was a must-watch. This Guy Ritchie series was based on the movie of the same name, but you didn’t need to watch the movie to understand any of it. I actually find it a lot better than the movie!
Theo James plays the son of an aristocrat, and despite being the second son, he ends up inheriting the family estate and fortune. Not only does he have to deal with an older brother who doesn’t think it fair, but he also learns that the family estate has been used by a drug crime boss. Now he needs to figure out how to get rid of her while fixing the family’s money problems.
Bridgerton
The third season of Bridgerton dropped in 2024, and it makes it one of the must-watch shows before the year ends. You’ll want to start from the beginning if you haven’t already. While the seasons follow a different couple, the drama from previous seasons is still brought up.
This third season follows Colin and Penelope’s love story. When Colin returns from a trip away, he realizes that the woman who always followed him is no longer interested. Of course, that means he is now interested in her in the way she was once with her. Penelope has secrets, though, and those secrets threaten to ruin their chance at love.
Worst Ex Ever
If you’re a fan of true crime, Netflix has you covered with originals. After the success of Worst Roommate Ever, the streamer turned to exes. Worst Ex Ever is a true crime docuseries that follows some of the most harrowing cases that involved murder, fraud, and jail time.
Each episode goes through a different ex. And it’s not all men cheating or abusing their partners. Some of these cases are sure to shock you to the core as you realize how deep the deceit went. It will definitely make you think twice about the dating world!
Nobody Wants This
Don’t let the title fool you. Nobody Wants This is one of those shows that Netflix viewers have wanted and needed for some time. It’s an excellent romance series that brings up different cultures and beliefs, but not in your tropey kind of way. One thing I adore is that it involves an agnostic and a rabbi rather than opting for Christianity as the basis of differences.
Kristen Bell is an agnostic sex podcaster, Joanne. When she meets a single rabbi, Noah, played by Adam Brody, little does she expect to fall in love. When they do, they have to figure out if their relationship can stand up against their differing beliefs. After all, aren’t similar belief systems important to grow a life together? Then there are the meddling families, and we all know how difficult they can make things!
Don't end 2024 without watching at least one of the Netflix shows above.
