Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget release date, cast, photos, plot, and more

In the first Chicken Run, they were breaking out of a chicken farm, this time they’re breaking in. After more than 20 years, a Chicken Run sequel is almost here! From the creators of Wallace and Gromit comes Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.

Netflix collaborated with Aardman Animation to bring the long-awaited sequel to the iconic 2000s movie, which will officially premiere on December 15, 2023. The date was announced during the 2023 Annecy International Animation Festival.

On November 15, Netflix released the official trailer along with film stills and more info on the upcoming animated feature. Here’s everything we know about Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.

Ginger and Rocky will be returning to our screens in 2023! But while previously they were played by Julia Sawalha and Mel Gibson, in the revamped version, the iconic feathery duo will be voiced by Thandie Newton and Zachary Levi, respectively. And according to Netflix’s official press release, the pair are “fabulous together.”

The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey has also joined the cast of the animated family comedy film as their headstrong daughter, Molly, who’s described as “a true chick-off-the-old-block.”

Reprising their roles are Jane Horrocks (Babs), Imelda Staunton (Bunty), and Lynn Ferguson (Mac), joined by new additions Josie Sedgwick-Davies (Frizzle), David Bradley (Fowler), Romesh Ranganathan (Nick), Daniel Mays (Fetcher) and Nick Mohammed (Dr. Fry).
