Full list of Netflix shows confirmed for release in 2024

If you thought 2023 was a good year for Netflix shows, 2024 just might have the year beat. On top of some of the biggest shows returning for new seasons, long anticipated premieres of shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Griselda, The Brothers Sun, and 3 Body Problem are kicking off the new year with a bang.

Throughout 2023, there were dozens upon dozens of shows released on Netflix, from heavy hitters such as Outer Banks season 3 to massive newcomers like One Piece. The year also saw the returns of Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, The Lincoln Lawyer, and more, as well as the premieres of new hits The Night Agent, The Diplomat, That ’90s Show, and XO, Kitty.

While fans will surely be anxiously awaiting the next seasons of the above shows, all of which have been renewed, along with others like Ginny & Georgia season 3, Wednesday season 2, The Watcher season 2, You season 5, and more, any previous announcements of “coming in 2024” from Netflix could be delayed in the wake of the now-resolved actors’ and writers’ strikes.

For now, Netflix has dated some of the biggest shows. Harlan Coben’s limited series Fool Me Once stars 2024 off, literally on Jan. 1, and the mystery-thriller will have everyone hooked on New Year’s Day. January also boasts the Michelle Yeoh-starring dark action-comedy The Brothers Sun, the eighth season of Queer Eye, and Sofi Vergara’s miniseries Griselda. The live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series finally arrives in February, while 3 Body Problem heats up spring.

More Netflix shows expecting release in 2024

Beyond the series that have already landed a place on Netflix’s 2024 release schedule, there are plenty more shows that fans should be looking for throughout the year. Bridgerton season 3 ended up being bumped to 2024 from a rumored late 2023 release, while Emily in Paris season 4 missed the show’s annual December release due to the strikes.

When Netflix announced a handful of its renewals, the streamer provided the broad promise that the next seasons would drop in 2024, though only time will tell ifThe Recruit season 2, FUBAR season 2, and others will have an official release in 2024. Netflix shows delayed for release in 2025

When Netflix revealed its upcoming slate of new shows coming throughout 2024, a few glaring ommissions had fans worried that they might not be seeing new seasons of their favorite shows until 2025. Well, those fears weren't unfounded. Deadline quickly followed up Netflix's announcement with confirmation that a handful of highly anticipated shows will be delayed until 2025.

Obviously, we were already aware that Stranger Things season 5 and Wednesday season 2 wouldn't be premiering on Netflix until 2025 due to strike delays and the amount of time the series will take in post-production. But Deadline officially squashed our hopes that the likes of Virgin River, The Recruit, The Lincoln Lawyer, and more would possibly return in 2024.
