The highly anticipated Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie was finally released on Netflix on July 28, and now that some time has passed, people are wondering if there will be a sequel. No worries! We’ve got you covered and shared everything we know about a potential Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir 2 right below.

Based on the hit kids’ animated series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie follows teen superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir as they band together to put a stop to supervillain Hawk Moth and his evil minions. The film takes place before the television series and shares the origin stories of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Viewers learn how teens Marinette and Adrien became the superheroes.

Most of the English voice cast from the series returned in their roles for the movie. The English voice cast includes Cristina Vee (Marinette/Ladybug), Bryce Papenbrook (Adrien/Cat Noir), Keith Silverstein (Gabriel/Hawk Moth), Mela Lee (Tikki), Max Mittelman (Plagg), Carrie Keranen (Alya), Zeno Robinson (Nino), Selah Victor (Chloé Bourgeois), and many others.

Is Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir 2 happening?

It appears so! According to The Economic Times, Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir 2 was confirmed in 2021. There is even a rumored release year of 2026 for the sequel.

During a TikTok interview, the movie’s creator Jeremy Zag mentioned that the screenplay for the sequel has already been written. He also said he’s currently writing the script for a third film in the Miraculous franchise. This interview was posted on TikTok on July 3, 2023.

So it looks like Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir 2 is a go. However, it’s unknown if it’ll be a theatrical release only or if it’ll be on Netflix as well. As the filmmaking process continues, we should learn more details about where we’ll eventually be able to watch it and other important information.
