Best Netflix shows to watch this weekend, August 4

Below is a list of recommended Netflix shows for your weekend, including two you can skip.

The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 part 2

WATCH! Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is back for the final segment of episodes of The Lincoln Lawyer season 2. The second season is based on the fourth book of Michael Connelly’s book series. Part 2 picks up after the part 1 cliffhanger, which saw Mickey beaten up and files stolen, which will cause issues with Lisa’s case. What is Mickey’s fate? Watch to find out!

The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge season 1

SKIP!  Judges Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres return in the new series The Big Nailed It Baking Challenge, in which 10 motivated but inexperienced bakers compete for the change of a lifetime. Coached by experienced pastry chefs Erin Jeanne McDowell and Robert Lucas, the contestants will learn to expand their baking knowledge while trying to create a sweet masterpiece to win that cash prize. Another baking challenge series doesn’t offer much in the way of new ideas, so skip it this weekend.

Heartstopper season 2

WATCH! The highly anticipated second season of Heartstopper is now available to stream. The eight-episode season is a British teen drama based on Alice Oseman’s same-titled graphic novel series. The second season will see the characters discover love and friendship as they navigate exams, prom, a trip to Paris, and more. Watch it now and know season 3 is in the works.

Nineteen to Twenty season 1

SKIP! The South Korean reality series Nineteen to Twenty places eight individuals together on the verge of turning twenty.  The participants attend classes to prepare for adulthood while learning more about one another. The catch, they aren’t permitted to date one another. Think of it as a less steamy Too Hot To Handle. While it is a sweet reality series, it is a bit slow, so you can skip it.

Ugly Betty seasons 1-4

WATCH! ABCs entire Ugly Betty series is available on Netflix. The series has a significant cult following and tells of the unfashionable Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), a 22-year-old Mexican American from Queens who lands a job at a fashion magazine. She must quickly learn to navigate the fashion world as she becomes an assistant to the owner of the publication’s son, Daniel (Eric Mabius). Betty and Daniel become friends, form a bond, and assist one another professionally and personally.

Be sure to treat yourself to some fantastic Netflix shows this weekend.
